I'm a newbie, and just starting my search. I'm looking for a 62-64 Convertible. Any tips on what to lookout for would be great. Looking for something that doesn't need a lot of work to start, I'm not a mechanic by nature, so will be learning along the way. Thanks for any tips

I have a 65 Corsa, and I just put in my fully rebuilt front suspension(excluding steering components). Now I would like to take out the rear assembly and rebuild it. Is there any major things I need to watch out for? I don’t have a lift, I only have a 3 ton floor jack.

I'm a new member, but have already found a lot of valuable info on the forum. I just purchased my car last week and it arrived via flatbed today. I need to rearrange some things in my garage, but I plan to restore the car myself. I worked my way through school at a restoration shop, so have the basic skills, but no Corvair expertise. I just love these cars! The car is very original. Orig

I've got a line on a 1962 Spyder convertible that needs "get it out of my carport". I haven't seen it yet, and I have no idea what I will see when I do, but I gotta go check this baby out. I've owned 5 Corvairs (a Rampside, two convertibles, two 4-doors) and was a member of CORSA, but this was back in the 1980s. I know the basic drill for prepping a long-sleeping engi

I am finally getting serious about restoring the John Glenn car. This is a 1964 Monza Convertible, 110-PG with factory A/C, originally owned by Astronaut John Glenn when he was still with NASA, living in Seacrest Texas. I am the 5th owner of this car, and bought it in 2001 with the intention of fully restoring it to its original appearance, but life got in the way and the car took a back sea

When I started this company, the first products I made were ignition wire sets for the racers in my area, Northern California. In the late 70s, you could not buy a decent Corvair wire set with the correct boots and seals. I started buying solid copper ignition wi

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is happy, healthy and that their Vairs are treating them nicely. As I am at college, my vair is currently home. I never, really got any wrench time in with it as when I got it, I left shortly after. I am heading back home next week for break and will be home a little less than a week. I will then go back and come back from winter break after final exams. In

Okay, I've got all the major parts together to get a car that runs again. It's running super crappy, even worse than before I got everthing rebuilt. Assuming it's linkage/screw adjustments, but I'm not sure what to adjust or how much etc. I'm sure there are 1,000 threads on this, but oh well. So it starts up fine, but it has no power, kinda sounds like it wants to

. It has been quite a while since I had a Corvair. 45 years ago I had 3 in a row, then I became infatuated with the muscle car thing and it was all outrageously overpowered mid size vehicles ever since. For the last few years those cars have lost a lot of their appeal for me and I find myself yearning for another Corvair. I have located a couple I find interesting and am wondering if you guys

Hey guys, Very interested in getting AC into my car. I know in 68 it wasnt available due to the smog system but all that is out of there and now has room for it. Doing some research and i have been told there is a aftermarket setup which is more efficient and doesnt require the huge box in the trunk but can be retrofitted with the vents and what not. I would like to go that route and would lo

Hi guys. I don't actually own a Corvair yet, but have been looking for awhile now and expect to find one fairly soon. I'm wide open to any advice or help from guys who obviously know pretty much everything about these unique little cars. First, a little about myself. I've been playing with autos (mostly GM) for over forty years now. Built a few 99 point full size Chevies, did my

Hey guys! new to the forum. I am 22 yrs old and looking to purchase a Corvair in a week. The one I am looking at is a 1969 Corvair Monza, automatic. I am told it has around 80,000 original miles, selling for under $3,000. I can afford to put some money into it instantly and then more over time. I want to know all that I can before I enter the Corvair world. Are there things in particular to look

Hi everyone, I am in the process of looking for a 65-69 project corvair. Have allways loved the way they looked and have a dumb question, and will probably have several more as I get into this. I am looking for a convertible with auto transmission and air conditioning. Several of the cars I have seen have manual tops, My question is can the power top items be added to a car with a manual top?

I was out driving my 64 Corvair convertible today and it was running real well then all of a sudden started miss firing, went back home and found #3 plug wired lose from the plug, check all the plug wires and pushed them onto the plugs to make sure no more were that way. Went back out for a drive, it started missing again and now I figured it may be the points so I went back home and #5 plug was

I just got the Corvair Technical Guide Vol 3 in the mail a few days ago and finally had the chance to look over what it has for info I hoped it would have for my learning. But odd thing is the setup the book is or is it just me that has questions about the pages in the book. First chapter Accessories, starts with vol 1 page 2 and the next page is 19. Air Conditioning starts with page 2 and

Bought a "new" winter car yesterday. It's a 77 Caprice wagon. It's in decent shape for it's age. It has a 350 4bbl. My question regards the Quadgrajunk carb. The secondarys don't seem to be kicking in when I put my foot into it. What should I be looking for? It has had an electric choke installed. Thanks!
