It is, I moved the car by hand after I parked it. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago goatsnvairs One thing I do recall, the seal was right on the edge of the crank, so I used one of those Clark's spacers to move it back a tad. Yes. As I recall I saw arguments for and against viton for this seal but I cant remember which Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago goatsnvairs Right now I'm using simple green aviation parts cleaner. Safe for aluminum, works great . has to be the aviation stuff though, mix 1 part cleaner to 3 parts water. Yeah, crank seal behind flywheel....aggravating, probably 2500 miles on that seal Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago goatsnvairs In one drive I went from a Corvair that didn't leak at all to what looks like a total failure of the rear main seal.....

You can also buy them from Summit racing (repops). I just bought a set for my '65 vert. Wheels + trim rings + center caps total $500. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago goatsnvairs I have both as well. The turbo is a big hit at car shows, and you can't beat that emblem and big chrome tailpipe. Most of my issues have been carb related, the YH is finicky. Recently upgraded to a 45mm Mikuni carb, early results are good. You also have to be aware that typically today's gas alone will not keep you out of detonation zone, so plan on adding some sort of water/meth in Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago goatsnvairs About 20% of undercarriage brushed and rust treated. I like the setup on my 65 coupe so much that I just ordered them for my 65 vert. 15x6 chevy rallyes with low caps and rings. Summit has the wheels for $60 apiece. Also need concentric rings ($2.50 each). A full set of wheels rings, a Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago goatsnvairs 140. Re: Score American Mel Wrote:

No, gas tank is varnish, no brakes. Ill be tearing it down over the next few weeks. Going to take out the transaxle too, I guess I'll find out then!
