I cut both the rear valence and the stainless grille open a bit to make room for some torque twist. Also have a thin rubber "band" around the tip where it comes thru the opening. Maybe back around page 200 on this thread I have more underneath pics. What is nice is that from the side and back you see no pipes, no muffler. Just clean Forum: Corvair Center Forum 9 months ago goatsnvairs racingguy2 Wrote:

Will check it out! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 9 months ago goatsnvairs Never been one to get much into NASCAR, Cart, or Formula 1. I ran across a 2 season documentary on the 2018/19 Formula 1 seasons and now I'm addicted. Wow, the money, team rivalries and dynamics. The show is very well done. Mostly focuses on the mid field teams with lower funds. Give it a look if you're locked in at home. I had a chance to go to the Montreal F1 race about 10 years Forum: Corvair Center Forum 9 months ago goatsnvairs Finalized the right side of my "thru the air grille" exhaust tips. Its all bolted in. I was able to use factory u pipes, heat shields, and even hangars. For the air grille I cut one section out, and then used some in weld to put back in a verticle bar. Right side fits good, left side needs about 1" cut out of the U pipe and rewelded (someday I have to learn to do that). Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs Got my interior all back in. New carpet, dash redone, chrome polished, 4 pass seat belts. Front seats need redone, but Ill do that while its getting painted later this summer, want to drive it a little starting April sometime. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs Pretty sure my wife and I have it but can't get a test so we are self quarantining. Fortunately both in good health. Andrew Cuomo's daily press conferences are must see TV in our house. Straightforward, no BS, optimistic but serious, and even some light hearted humor. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs If you're willing to try one more time, maybe "The Right Stuff"? I had a Riviera trans pan that just wouldn't stop leaking but this stuff worked. Parts need to be alcohol clean, and after assy no oil for 24 hours.
That being said, if tolerance is too much you may need an oversized dowel or different housing. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs Put my original interior back in the rear of old yeller. While I had it out I put in a set of Julianos GM seat belts with the proper underside supports. Rear seat is nice, fronts need reupholstery. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs I did the same on my '65 turbo. It is super bright, but not uncomfortable at nite. I don't think its dimmable, was going to check but when I went out this am I noticed the clock was already dead, so I had to pull it all out again (grrr). The quartz clock in my turbo is 7 years old and still going.. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs Finished the dash refurb. All LED, quartz clock, new glove box. Looks great installed. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs Back to work on old yeller. Entire dash dismantling. Converting the Corsa dash to LED, new glove box, remote antenna trigger, etc. Took the dash apart today, you can really tell its a low mileage car, never been out. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs I do 1/2 so I'm not doing it again in 5,000 miles. One of my least favorite jobs is a hot adjustment, even with the cut valve cover. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago goatsnvairs Actually what did I do to my Corvair this week. Took some time off old yeller to prep my black turbo for spring. New rear main, changed idle jet in the Mikuni, nylon bushings in swing arms. I've never had a "bullet" on my turbo but I finally installed one I got off eBay last year after fixing one of the tabs. Looks good! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs Got my front end back in. Very productive day in the garage (except for the wrong front brake hoses from Rock Auto). She still sits a bit high in front but I have no interior or the trunk weights back in. Just cut one coil off. Drive train pretty much done! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs Is he still doing the $3500 deal? Ill take 4 please. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs I'm in the process of rebuilding my 140 and just put this back together. On mine the nut that holds it in has a bit of a nipple in the inside of the nut. That nipple keeps the spring centered. The widened end of the spring goes over that nipple. So in my case, its the one on the left. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs Continued under the front end of old yeller. Installed my new gas tank / sender unit. Gauge works good. Also pulled my kingpins out of the parts cleaner and painted them, cut one coil off my front springs. Now just waiting to get my front cross member and brake backing plates back from the sandblaster for paint and reassembly. Hoping for a test ride by end of Feb which will be the first time Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs bobvair Wrote:

> Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs 52. Re: Turbo Cam I converted my 140 to a 180. The 140 was pretty fresh and had an Isky 270 and since it was a fresh rebuild I wanted to keep the case intact, plus didn't want the added expense of another cam and gear. I was worried about excess overlap but when I compared the data on the OT20 to the 270 it wasn't too big a difference so I kept the 270.
Now I'm running the 270, turbo heads with Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs What kind of manifold pressure did these make? Just curious. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs TedBrown Wrote

I like the turn down on the hose nipple on your setup. I have one from C Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs I have since put points back in both my corsas. I consider them hardened against the coming EMP strike. I can give you guys a lift if you need one Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs Now that the drivetrain is done on old yeller, I moved to the front of the car. Dropped the entire suspension and crossmember which I will take to the sandblaster tomorrow. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago goatsnvairs Started her up! One lifter banged away for about 5 mins then shut up. After 15 minutes I shut her down, then did the running valve adjustment. Then I took the video. Secondaries not enabled, wanted to get everything set first. On to the next! Forum: Corvair Center Forum |
