I live in the Los Angeles area and it took me over two years to find a late modlel Vert for sale that wasn't a rusted mess. Don't forget the Vert rocker panels are different (reinforced) so rust there is a serious structural problem. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 15 years ago 66vairman When the engine is being started the resistance wire to the coil is bypassed to compensate for a voltage drop caused by the starter. I once had a car that would spin and not start untill I released the key to RUN, then it would just catch and run. The problem was no voltage (or low voltage) during starting.
