Just took delivery of the first wagon. The patina is awesome...although a lot of rust in pans, the body and rockers are mint. Factory 4 speed car. This one may get saved instead of my other 700 wagon just because of the patina. Going to get the other wagon in a few weeks. Both have good windshields so the Ratty Wagon will live again!! The other wagon pretty much just parts, all the glass great. T

I've felt sorry for all of you over the years of reading about deer attacks on our lovely cars and even though its not lovely, it is one of my baby's and it finally happened to me. Driving to the paint booth at the airport last Thursday at about 5:30 in the morning, scanning the road for deer, one decided to jump out of nowhere and body slam the side of the ratty wagon and destroyed the

Excellent clutch cable!! Daily driver 61 Lakewood driven between 900 and 1100 a month. Very smooth feel. So far so good with well over 10000 miles so far. I should probably order another just to have a spare rather than the re-pop spare I have.

I worked on a 66 140 A/C coupe about 5, maybe 6, years ago. Didn't think of taking a picture of the body tag, but I did find receipts from work done on the car when it was in Colorado

I have to add that this was two trips, mainly freeway at 70 mph (seems to run best there) to an occasional 75-78 mph and only about 10 to 12 miles in town traffic and lights. I would guess that overall average would be in the 20 to 21 like a lot of you, but most of my driving is commuting to work on the interstate and to nearby cities. YMMV

I have been driving the ratty wagon going on 2 1/2 years as a DD but have never checked the fuel mileage, so got curious. The fuel gauge quit about a year into driving it so I just rock the car side to side to listen how much fuel is sloshing in the tank and judge from there how much fuel is in it Don't laugh, its worked so far. I have only ran out once pulling into the gas station. Anyways,

I agree. One color. Why mess with such a unique color. I get so many comments on it from people coming to the shop and it hasn't even been in public yet.

Thanks folks!! That is exactly what I was looking for!...not that I'm going to carry anything up there except the occasional surfboard ,the thought of adding extra weight to an already rear weight biased car wasn't a really great idea. Thanks so much.

The reason for asking is I've seen pictures of them more forward than mine is placed so I was curious if there was a standard or just personal preference.

Is there a specified measurement for installing the roof rack on a wagon or is it wherever they felt like putting it. My other wagon has the roof rack place towards the rear of the car/ roof and i want to transfer it to my DD aka the ratty wagon. Thanks, Brian

The ratty wagon (my daily 60 mile round trip driver) developed a squeaking metal on metal noise a couple of days ago after about 10 miles of driving either way from work. Narrowed it down to the axle bearing, so I fixed that and also installed the windshield on the Evening Orchid car. I know the black primer strip around the edge of the windows is not original, but I think it gives a cleaner look

This video I did was at least 7 years ago when I first painted it. It took 4 spray outs until I was somewhat happy with a close match but still wasn't perfect...too purplish pink but it was going to have to work. The local paint store was really good at matching cars I've built which had to be original colors but just couldn't get this one perfect...toners today are a lot

Nicely done...kind of see which might or will be some up and coming investment cars. The Scouts in my area are already starting to get swooped up. Just did a 72 about a year and half ago for a gentleman. He's constantly getting people asking if he wants to sell it.
