The process I have used lately is to use a 'carbide grit' hacksaw blade. Like this one at Amazon I cut the ends off, then cut it in half (if its long enough), and chuck it up in the drill. it does a good job removing everything that shouldnt be there. Eric P. DeWitt, IA

205/50-15 is a Miata size - so they will be around for a while. Yep, they are a tad short - but still look good on a 15x7" wheel, especially if you are slightly lowered. Eric P. DeWitt, IA

1960's level of production quality. It was an economy car...not a handbuilt supercar. Panel fit is OK, at best, on unrestored cars. Eric P. DeWitt, iA

The crankshaft seal on the Corvair to VW bellhousing adaptor is a stock Corvair piece. While you are in there....I'd change the pilot bushing, and the throw-out bearing, and probably the clutch. I'd also check the cross-shaft thing that the throw-out bearing rides on for wear. Eric P. DeWitt, IA

I've known Fran for quite some time. He puts lots and lots of miles on his Corvairs, which are all modified / improved in some way - and he has been writing tech articles for longer than I have been alive. I believe that this modification is on his '64 Spyder, and it has 20k miles since the mod. Eric P. DeWitt, IA

We had a wide range of cars! Mid-engined V6, and 2 V8's 3.1L 110 PG Several 140/4 speeds 2 4-doors! Everything from bone stock, to modified! If you haven't been to this laid back, great event - AND it happens again next year - you should plan on coming out. Tons of track time (seriously, I was just beat after Saturday, and stopped running). Eric P. DeWitt, IA
