Forum: Corvair Center Forum 4 days ago joelsplace Once you start getting wear you will have excess clearance. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 4 days ago joelsplace 3. Re: T-3's Some of my drivers still have T-3s in them. I don't know if they are original or if they are the correct ones but they are pretty old. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 4 days ago joelsplace Let me know and I'll send you the full resolution version. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 8 days ago joelsplace I think it is very possible that you got 2 bad regulators.
I like Matt's answer but I would think the other regulators would also overcharge. Maybe the solid state ones act differently with a wire disconnected? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 15 days ago joelsplace Probably so.
I just got a message from him offering 18% off. What a deal! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 20 days ago joelsplace You need to figure out which coil you have before swapping the Ignitor. You can burn up the Ignitor with the wrong coil. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 21 days ago joelsplace We should all get on there and send him offers around $1000. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 21 days ago joelsplace Isn't that the wire for the light in the instrument panel? Use a meter to see which brown wire is connected to that light socket. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 21 days ago joelsplace It shouldn't be a problem but as Frank said the grey wire is grounded somewhere. You'll have to track that down and fix it. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 22 days ago joelsplace I wish it was close to me so I could buy it all. I need a Wayne! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 23 days ago joelsplace I messaged him to see where the 5th truck is located. The price seems crazy high to me but some don't appear to have much rust. Other cars I've bought from Colorado were really rusty. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 25 days ago joelsplace He's concerned about how many times you can press the pin in and out before the press fit is lost. That is a concern but I don't have an answer. There probably isn't one except to measure the small end each time. Reconditioning rods does nothing for the small end but they are supposed to check it. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 25 days ago joelsplace 19. Re: quickjack The front left lift point using my main 2 post lift rarely has any weight on it with Corvairs. All the other vehicles I put on it seem normal. I attribute this to Corvairs being fairly stiff and having such light front ends. It never has been an issue. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 26 days ago joelsplace Solid aluminum is not ok. Corvairs break cracks with the balancer so not having one is a big risk. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 27 days ago joelsplace It does switch the dome light but the dome light isn't powered through the coil. (Or shouldn't be) Forum: Corvair Center Forum 27 days ago joelsplace Our trash service includes hazardous waste disposal. We just have to call for a pick up. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 27 days ago joelsplace "the coil on the dimmer started glowing"
I'm failing to see how the dome light could have anything to do with the problem.
As far as I know the instrument cluster lighting is the only thing controlled by the dimmer. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 28 days ago joelsplace Unless there are 20 cars in the house I think he's a little off on his count. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 weeks ago joelsplace Since yours is doing the opposite of the common failures the wire from the sender might be grounded somewhere. I've never seen that happen but it is possible since ground on that wire will show empty. Maybe the wire is pinched somewhere? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago joelsplace Numbers that good cold and that low high are very suspect. I'm not saying I know what it is but I have had overheated rings and none of them had good compression cold or hot. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago joelsplace I can't imagine any overheat damage to an engine that would cause those symptoms. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago joelsplace "Low voltage will cause higher amperage which will "weld"the disc and contacts. Common problem with evopowered Harleys. Mike"
Interesting. Maybe that would tend to happen with a battery with a dead cell but the others were fully charged. I'll bet the Harleys have solenoids that are just barely big enough. Forum: Corvair Center Forum |
