The several turbo 180 Corvairs I have had and driven daily must have been special. I did not have any of these problems talked about here. Mine started just fine, summer or winter. Did not have hot soak issues or vapor lock. I ran stock fuel pumps. Typically set the choke at 2-3 notches lean so the choke was not closed all the way. Loved the way they drove and want to get another one.

95% sure that is the positraction making that noise. Add a tube of the Amsoil SLIP-LOK to the differential. It should go away.

These '67-69 edge guards are NOS PN 3921817 & 3921818. These are narrower than the '65-66 edge guards (986039). I know the 65-66 is what is normally seen and of course they will fit '67-69. But I put the 817 & 818 guards on my '68 years ago and they are definitely different. Would like to find some more.

If the tab on the throttle linkage is not hitting the stop on the carb, the throttle butterfly is not opening fully. This tab can be bent "slightly" to adjust for full throttle. Your problem my lie in the correct adjustment of the linkage from the cross shaft to the carb. Manual states this needs to be approximately 126 degrees. This is very important.

I have a set of original OEM quick steering arms 3876417 & 3876418. These arms have not been sandblasted or painted. They have the original factory finish and even have the factory white markings on them. They are in excellent condition and have been in my possession for over 45 years. $980 shipping/insurance included to lower 48.

I bought this new Clark's 260 cam with an installed new original style cam gear and set of Sealed Power lifters. I put 5,400 miles on it and decided to change cams. This one does lope a little with a slow idle and I wanted a smoother idle. Lifters have been kept with the cam lobe position they were used in. New price over $425.00. Sell for $300 plus shipping.

Anybody have any tricks to get more travel from the clutch pedal on a '62 van. Van has a new Clark's clutch cable. But cannot seem to get enough travel to disengage the clutch. If I adjust tight enough to get release, the clutch fork is tight on the throwout bearing. Any hints?

The seat buttons are stainless. When you have them off you can buff them on a buffing wheel with the correct compound. They will come out looking like a mirror. Then you can re-install on the new seat covers.

This is an original 3876417 quick steering arm. It is the factory finish, not painted, and still has the factory white paint marks. Picture makes it look like it is painted black but it is just as it was assembled on the car by GM. This is an orphan 417, no 418 to go with it. $200 plus shipping.

These were NOS cylinder/piston assemblies 5000 miles ago. Crosshatch pattern still in cylinders. The end gaps of the NOS rings that came with the assemblies are identical to other NOS GM rings that have never been installed. Compression gaps are .025-.030 and oil rail gaps are approaching .050.

Have been checking the end gap of NOS GM rings and the gaps exceed the specs in the shop manual quite a bit. Tried several different NOS rings. All about the same. The oil rails were the worst offenders. Were all GM rings that bad? What about Clark's rings?

I am looking for the "J" tools for pressing the wrist pin out of the rod to change pistons. I believe the tools are J-6994-1, J8355-1, and J-8355-3. Does anyone have these they would like to sell, loan, or rent? It is difficult to get these installed correctly just using a press. It might be a way for someone to make a few bucks by renting these. I would put down a decent deposit,
