I have the assembly manual. Just trying to get a clearer picture of the "production wiring" shown. I have also looked at the Body Assembly Manual and it does not match this one. So I thought if I could get a picture of an actual unmolested car it would clear things up.

Still looking for this information, I know someone out there has a '66 conv with a power top that can take a picture of the circuit breaker by the battery. Thanks, Dennis

Could someone please post a picture of the circuit breaker on a '66 convert with a power top. I need to confirm how it is mounted and wired. Also, a picture of the location of the hole in the rear shelf where the wires for the power top motor are routed.

The compression using 140 heads will be too high. Severe detonation with turbo boost. You would have to mill the combustion chamber to lower compression. And I have no idea about the increased flow. GM balanced the carburetor, turbo, intake, and exhaust very well (in my opinion).

That is the trouble with cork gaskets, they are worthless. I only use paper with Permatex on pan side, Copper Coat on block side. Never have leaks and never have to retighten.

I have seen somewhere a write-up of what was originally painted and what was left bare under the LM's, especially '66. Can't find it now. Anyone know for a stock look what I should paint, what not to paint?

I need to know what suspension components under a LM ('66) get painted and which stay natural. I think I saw that information on this site but cannot find it again. Also, the under carriage of the car, is it: 1) black 2) primed with the car and then car color overspray 3) car color 4) combination of above

Being in the plastics industry in the past, I believe the numbers on the bottom of the bottles (#10, #11 etc) are cavity numbers in the glass mold. Has nothing to do with year of production.

Were the LM ('65-'66) quick steering arms ever offered without the quick steering box? In the past I found several cars with quick arms but either did not check for the box or it was not quick. Therefore, I have the arms but no box to go with them. Thanks

Need a little help identifying some LM steering boxes. I have a couple of boxes with a 14 5/16" shaft measuring the shaft that sticks out of the box (from the seal). I think this is early '65 telescopic. I have a couple that measure 15 5/16". I think this is late '65 &'66 all. Can anyone confirm this please. Thanks

Just noticed on the CORSA dashboard that I have been a member since May 14,1969. That is an interesting date in the Corvair world. Anybody else on that date?

Thanks Mark - It has been a long time. We first met at the '74 Chicago convention. I swapped you some '69 interior parts in Nashville TN. Dennis Kittel

Looking for a '66 Corsa coupe to use as a daily driver. Engine and interior not important, body is. I don't want to spend all of my money fixing rust when I can spend it on mechanical and interior. Southwest car would probably be best bet. needpart

I understand all that you say and know how to read tags. I just mentioned not only did it not have any "body" options, it had no options.

More on build sheets for those who are interested. I found this one in the upper rear seat. Only found because I removed the seat cover. Also picture of trim tag. This '66 Corsa convertible was only unusual because it had NO options. Not even a tinted windshield. It was a very basic Corsa 140 3 speed.

I have '65-'66 wood steering wheel and would like to trade it for an NOS '66 Corsa rear grill insert. The wheel has a couple of splits in the plastic but otherwise very good and comes with the deep adapter (non-telescopic).

I am relatively new to this forum but I have been a Corvair person for over 45 years. This forum is a great idea but unless it is working correctly it gets to be not worth using. I have simply been trying to attach some pictures to a post of a part for sale for over 2 weeks. Won't work. Administrator says there is nothing wrong with my sign on or permissions. Then why do I keep getting the 4
