What lube do most use on the pilot bushing? Oil only, light grease, moly grease? Withe the new crop of bushings I had a new one wear out and squeal in 1,000 miles. I had another new one sieze on the end of the input shaft and spin the bushing in the crankshaft. Never had either of those things with NOS bushings.

Factory A/C cars got the 47A alternators as standard. If the A/C was installed by the dealer did they upgrade the alternator from the standard 35A? The 47A alternator was supplied as an option in '65 & '66 - K84 heavy duty alternator.

Thanks Dan. It was the thick throttle body gasket that was not getting a good seal to the carb. This caused a vacuum leak so the accelerator pump would not stay down. No more flooding. Thanks again.

Once again, GM would not have paired a different regulator with the 47A alternator if not necessary. I don't want to burn up a regulator or alternator. These original parts are hard to find. I always made sure I kept the 47A regulator and alternator together.

The original 47A alternator also had a different regulator, 1119519, 35A used 119516. Is there an issue buying this 47A from AZone and not changing the regulator?

I am having trouble with my stock '66 YH carb on a stock 180 engine. I know what is happening, just not why. When I open the throttle just "off idle", excess gas pours out of the pump discharge nozzle. This floods and bogs the engine. Also drips very slightly at idle. Over 30 mph the engine runs good. 1) I rebuilt the carb and check every part and passage using Bob Helt

Why does one want a high output alternator on a Corvair? The 35 amp unit is sufficient and if you want more output get the 47 amp heavy duty alternator that was optional for a Corvair. I am not seeing it.

What is the seal part number for the LM input shaft seal in the differential so I can get at FLAPS. Looked in FAQ but did not see it.

I was in the plastics industry for many years. It does not look like a cavity number of the mold. That would typically be on the inside where it would not show. Why only 8 & 9?

Anybody know the difference between the choke covers on the LM YH carbs? I have 2 carbs with an "8" and 2 carbs with a "9" in a circle on the choke covers. Bob Helt does not mention this in his YH carb book.

There was a tread a few weeks back giving the seal numbers for the differential side seals and transmission shifter shaft seal so they could be bought at FLAPS. Anyone remember the thread or can post the seal numbers again?

I have never had a truck engine but many, many Corsas. They all had the "C" with white paint.

The balancers on the 140 and 180 were different but I never found what it was. They are marked on the inner hub with a "C" and white paint.

No, column does not have to come out. Just remove the PG brake pedal and install the 4 speed pedals.

What a typical production date stamp looks like. This one is a '66 and was produced on 3-21-66.

Can anyone decipher the casting date on these 4 speed transmission covers? There is no correlation between casting date and transmission production date that is stamped on the case pad other than the casting date has to be before the production date.

I am afraid I will have to correct you. The 66-69 4 speed has a pad on the driver side above the accelerator rod stud. It should be stamped like the one picture R 03 14. "R" for 4 speed and month and day. All of my other 66-69 4 speeds are stamped. The pad on the transmission I am talking about on the other picture is blank.

I have a '66 4 speed from a Corsa I junked. The engine code and differential code are original and are a couple of weeks before the trim tag. However, the transmission has no code. The pad where it should be stamped is blank. Could this mean the transmission may have been replaced completely early in its life? Like maybe warranty replaced the transmission assembly instead of having a de

A couple of months ago someone on the forum was discussing the switch on the master cylinder that senses loss of pressure from either front or back brake circuit. There was a company on E-bay I think that was selling a rebuild kit for this switch. I cannot find it and the search function is not helping. Anyone remember where to get this switch rebuild kit?

Anyone have any '69 bucket seats, good structure at least? Vinyl condition not important. Would like the headrests to be in good shape.
