Here's a link to a blog a friend of mine from work wrote about the design history of the Greenbrier. There's lots of cool photos from the GM design center showing early concepts in clay. Greenbrier Design History

I have no idea what you're talking about Pete. I've never seen that car before in my life. That's one of those super-rare Holden prototypes not my old beat up sedan. I do really miss my old 60, but I'm glad to hear she's has a new life and a new identity with someone else. I think she was a real looker when I knew her(see picture). Unfortunately I won't be able to

I was topping off my transmission fluid so I picked up a quart of what I thought was atf but turns out was power steering fluid. The bottle was the same shape and color as the atf one. I didn't notice until I had driven it it a couple times. Sooo.... I'm I totally screwed? It actually drives fine and hasn't effected shifting that I've noticed. I'm so dumb.

Mice suck. The mice by me love to make nests out of the dryer sheets right next to the moth balls. For some reason they've figured up the bucket thing too. I used to catch lots of them that way. Constantly checking snap traps still seems the best bet. I've tried the trap below just recently...seems to work good. What I like about it is that it catches multiple mice. It has a one way

You don't want to sell your car. Trust me. .. you'll mope around the house all the time filled with regret and sadness telling yourself over and over "what was I thinking! "... ask me why I know. There will always be bills. There will always be roofs to fix. .. but you can never recapture those incredible moments of driving a classic. You'd have no trouble selling tha

So Pete owns her now. He says he'll have her back on the road by Sunday! Maybe he could at least PRETEND to have all sorts of troubles fixing it so that I don't totally regret my decision. Hope he loves her as much as my family did. I'm sad now. .. I'm going to go drink beer.

I've had lots of intrest in the car but haven't been able to close the deal yet. $1700 is the best I can do... maybe I'm out of my mind as far as the price. I plan to pull the ad on 10/20 figuring I'll just have to keep it at that point and eventually get around to getting on the road again. Thanks everyone. Craig's list ad for 1960 Corvair

I have a steel garage very similar to what's in the picture. It's framed with steelposts and skinned with pole barn siding. It's closed at both ends. How would you guys insulate it? Spraying foam is too expensive for my budget. Oh, and the floor is covered to keep out moisture.

My big plan is to take the money I get from selling the '60 and use it to buy a decent heater for my car barn. I'd move the VW Thing to the middle of the barn and use the remaining money for the final push during the cold months to get that "Thing" back on the road. Of course there's also the Bug that needs attention/money/time too... but that's not going to happe

Thanks Pete. He describes the car well... my plan was to use all the current engine parts on the motor that's in the car now, on the long block... blower bearing as well I do love this car, and it's hard for me to it for sale. I know it's not perfect but it's taken me and my family on many fun trips and always brought us home safe. Her name is Pearl btw... Dave/bought

I have a VERY vague memory as a child riding in a sedan corvair and noticing that there wasn't any pillars and how cool I thought that was. I think sedans are pretty cool. You might be able to pull off a very cool pitina ride with what you got there. There's a lot of nice age on your car. Best of luck! Welcome to the forum!

Yep, I agree... non-stop snap trap action is only thing that works for me. I've found decon pellets stored all over my car and garage. I hate mice.

We must have Idaho mice in Michigan because they loved using the dryer sheets to make cozy, fresh smelling, static free nests last time I tried using them. Mice suck.

Well... both cars run fine on new premium gas out of a clean container. I contacted the gas station owner and told him the trouble i was having and they said they'd pick up the cost of getting the cars back on the road. I just have to take it to a repair shop. There's one about four miles away so I have to figure out how to get it there. When I called the shop the guy said he's h

Hmmmmm... yes I did use the same pump. I'll check my filtes. They both have inline prefilters that I thought would help avoid debris from getting to my carbs. What a bummer. How do you get rid of almost 20 gallons of bad fuel?

So this is what happened. I haven't driven either Corvair for about a month. They both started up fine and ran smooth. I drove them to a gas station that's about 3 miles away. I put in about 3 oz of Sta-Bil in the 60 and about 4oz in the 63. The 63 drove home fine. The 60 started to kick and buck and backfire on the way home. I was getting them ready for the winter so I drained the o
