Thanks, Ken! The only non-standard driving I do now is an occasional trip around the cones. I already have stainless braided hoses on both cars. Cheap insurance there! Thanks again!!

Question on EM wheel cylinders.. Standard cylinders are a 7/8" bore. Metallic Brake option units are 1" bore. Is there any advantage to running the bigger bore cylinders with standard brake shoes? I found new 1" cylinders for $22, the same price as our East Coast vendors 7/8" units. Yes, even old Corvair owners are always looking for 'deals'... I am re

I solder a ground wire to EM tail light sockets and run it in to the engine compartment along with the positive wires. I have never had brighter lights. Been doing that on my Vairs since 1971. I dress the wiring so it looks like factory.

Ron was a friend for many years. We chatted and joked almost daily. Loved his big bore 62 maroon coupe. Always teased him that I would happily store it for him when needed.....as long as he left me the keys. The rebuilt original 102 from that 62 coupe lives on in my 62 sedan. R.I.P. my friend and fellow sailor. May you have fair winds and following seas.

Can you tell me which self adjuster parts you have? Are they the starwheels, or the arms, or the springs? I am interested. Thank you.

Wow! What a career! It seems like only yesterday I was watching for Boo the Penguin to announce a super sale on Corvair parts. Spent time at shows chatting with Lon about, of all things, railroading. Especially logging railroads. Funny, the tings you remember. Hopefully Lon and Linda can have some time to enjoy retirement. Time flies when you are having fun. Best wishes Lon and L

After driving Corvairs in the rust belt as daily drivers for many years, I at first painted all parts of the brake system with high temp rustoleum. Now, I powdercoat everything. I have a buddy in my street rod club that powdercoats for me at a discount. He mentioned one day that I will have the most beautiful Corvair brake parts in Minnesota. I then use Sil-Glyde Lube on the contact points. I

I converted the backup lights on my 62 Sedan to stop/turn/tail lights as well as converting to LEDs. I drove earlies as daily drivers for many years and always was nervous about those "not real bright" lights back there. Then I decided I wanted backup lights again and agonized for a long time before I went with the 65-66 Mustang backup lights down on the lower panel. They actually look

Hi Marco..... Which Corvair Owner's Group? There are several and at least one of them requires you to join to view. Of course, I sent in a join request, but I have to be approved by the admins.... was hoping to see parts and prices before they are gone. LOL!! Thanks, Bob

I have one of the Esquire hardtops for the EM convertibles. I do not think it is particularly attractive. I just own it because it is rare, I guess. I may bring it to next year's convention and sell it. Getting on in years and do not see ever putting it on one of my ragtops. I will take it out of the garage and take a picture of it if you like. Let me know here.

Lot of interest. Just not anywhere close. I just Paid $100 for the same panel, but it was in Minnesota. Sure wish it was closer. I would have bought it long time ago.

I have one of the hard tops made for the EM convertibles. "Esquire" by Riviera,Inc out of Cedar Rapids, IA. In my 48 years of "Corvairing" I have only seen 5 or 6 of them. I can't find anything in my literature "collection" about any model made for LM's. Love that LM removable top in the one post. Very much like an early 'Vette.

i have always had good transactions with the Underground.....until this year. 40 years of good service and now nothing..... i ordered and paid for a "Dale" distributor for my rebuilt 102 for my '62 at the end of January 2018. $109. Still waiting..... i was going to buy a "Dale" bolted flywheel, but i suspect I may not now....

Very interesting mod to the steering wheel. He had it made smaller by about an inch, he said. And it looks stock. I wonder how, who, where did that get cut down. Perfect for those of us who that aren't the same size we used to be...

Not in first photo, but it is on Matt's link. Between a LM white/white/white convert and a red EM. About 15 or so pictures into it.
