About 40 years ago I acquired a used Corghi tire changer but didn't know it needed 3 phase power to operate which I didn't have at home and I was not familiar with converters etc. I had an abundance of 12vdc Corvair starters with broken noses and I decided to remove all the 3 phase solenoids and the motor and convert machine to 12 vdc from a battery. I used Ford style solenoids for all

I used a 93 Buick deck lid starting about 2 inches below scalloped area and was happy with the results. I only used that deck lid because I had it..others would probably also work. Ken Arnold

Don M.(Donm), You are absolutely right in everything you say regarding the engine mounting system and I agree that if this car was going to be an off road vehicle or a stadium jump vehicle then definitely a mount system going from frame rail to frame rail would be required. However, these cars are just street driven cruisers and not subject to the increased forces requiring max strength. JMHO K
