![]() Corvair Center Results 1 - 30 of 2616 Yesterday 2ragtops I had my 66 towed home last year due to a broken clutch cable.
The roll back, connected the front and pulled it right up..
The lower valence and rear air grill missed the ground by 1 inch, but it made it without a hitch. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 days ago 2ragtops I bought the Deves rings from Clarks a while back and did a rebuild.
It immediately started smoking badly. After exhausting all other possibilities,
I tore it down and headed to the machine shop.
It was found that the rings were out of round, the evidence was obvious on the face of the rings.
sent them back, got new ones put it together, and all is good. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 days ago 2ragtops This is just opinion, but for the money, I would invest in the proper items to make your heater work. When they are in good repair, and working as they should, the heat will drive you out of the car, most than ample heat. I don't know how much is missing from your car, but the lower shrouds, two thermostats and the hoses, would run you about $150.00. And take up NO space in the car, and wo Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 days ago 2ragtops I could use a newer/nice Crown shift tube, mine is bent up a bit.
Anybody have one? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 13 days ago 2ragtops Tim
Your right, I am thinking of my 65 with air.
The 66 has a round outlet, but used the oval tubing to go to the heater box. Only the end is round. Or did I Rube Goldberg it when I restored it?
Is there a cure for getting old and senile? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 13 days ago 2ragtops My 66 Monza 140 with a/c power glide has the oval tube on the right side.
I have no way to document if it is original as I bought it 32 years ago from a Corvair guy here in st. Louis Forum: Corvair Center Forum 21 days ago 2ragtops It's not Physics guys, it's is simple
Corvairs are "HOT" cars Forum: Corvair Center Forum 28 days ago 2ragtops 10. Re: Deves rings I recently put a set in a new engine, and it burned excessive oil from the start.
When I was convinced something was wrong, I tore it apart, and took parts and pieces to the machine shop.
After a bit of searching, they found it. the rings were out of round.
I sent them back to the vendor, but the Factory [Deves} could have cared less. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 weeks ago 2ragtops Someone on here is looking for one, I have one and don't need it.
I want to test it, which terminals do I use Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 weeks ago 2ragtops I got a pair of nice logs, cleaned them a bit, and they are in use already. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 6 weeks ago 2ragtops Wade
I do not have an definitive answer however...…… I like to refer back years ago the published articles by Larry Claypool in the Communique.
Larry often said that different vendors were used, and this may account for the differences. Possibly, they drew parts from another line, to keep the Corvair line up and running.
Just my thoughts. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago 2ragtops I would be proud to own and drive that. Anybody want to buy it for me for Christmas Forum: Corvair Center Forum 6 weeks ago 2ragtops I have seen over 27,100 sunrises.
I bought my first Corvair in 1970 for $100.00 drove it for 9 years and then sold it to a guy who just had to have it, for $2400.00
Bought my next one in 1992, and then I lose count after that. Still own three now. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago 2ragtops 22. Re: Adopt A Part ![]() Yea Mine showed up this morning.
