They are running a closeout sale on Corvair parts.
Enter your vehicle and take a look..
It is mostly bulbs, belts and few brake shoes but the prices are right. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago 2-ragtops I have used Highline in the past, a bit of a drive, but their chrome can be used as a mirror to shave by, and they are not cheap, but again, their chrome is awesome. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago 2-ragtops Most if not all of the "platers" in the St. Louis area no longer do real chrome.
It is some sort of "paint" that looks like real chrome but eventually dulls and peels within about 2-3 years.
I was told that EPA got involved and within the city and surrounding area, it is no longer allowed. I have taken those out for various reasons and only noticed that the front end handling was a bit different on country roads.
I noticed no other vibration or resonance. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago 2-ragtops The center diaphragm is the bug-a-boo.
I have a friend who has a water jet machine hooked to a CNC set up.
He told me he could recreate the diaphragm almost instantly but with the center pin and peening, the costs would sky-rocket, so I walked away. I am not a machinist, so I know almost nothing about what he is referring to, I trust his assessment. Perhaps it is a Chevy wheel of that vintage. 6 lug suggests truck, but I am only guessing here. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 4 months ago 2-ragtops Let me check my stash today, I have numerous sets of 66 and up.
