Just wondered the best Sequence for adjusting clutch cable/linkage and gearshift on a 64 4 speed I have got about 1/2"- 5/8" between the crosshaft and bracket and the manual says adjust clutch pull rod so that it fits in the hole then back off 3 more turns on this,So does that mean i adjust back in towards the the clutch or or out further? Thanks

In rebuilding my carbs on my 64 the manual says 1 13/64"float level and clarks says 1 1/8" which is right (i think i did them to clarks before but not sure)both agree on the float drop however!

Hi I have almost finished putting my 64 110 engine together and need to know if i should have valve stem seals on it as all the heads are back on i just saw these in the clarks catalogue and it means stripping it all down again for this(very frustrating!)The workshop manual makes no mention of them so i did it to that,I will do so if they should be in there,(it took ages to get the valves shimmed

Whats best:-ally finned/deep sump or stock? After reading the how to hotrodyour corvair book and other posts a lot of people dont reckon its worth having as i have one to put on but the deep oil pickup doesnt clear the fins (which i can grind away) so is the stock one better after all apart from the extra oil capacity. Its only a street driven car
