I put the self powered (amp built in) Kenwood 8" under the seat in my C10 and it sounds good. Not going to vibrate anyone out of the cab, but rounds it out okay. YMMV, but you won't get any midbass out of little speakers. Have to be doing at least 6 1/2"s before it comes around.

Well, I don't have it, but I've thought about it sometime in the future. FWIW, it would stand to reason that it would deaden resonance and quiet some road noise.

Damn, missed that completely. I thought all the little clubs around ran autox's once in awhile. I don't even know where to start on the SCCA classes. I started reading through stuff, but have no idea. What class would an IS-3 corvair generally fall into? I'll start looking at that as well.

Yes sir. That's actually what got me started was reading through the guide on the Corsa website, appreciate your input as always. I'm at 120 pts, so just trying to clarify a couple things and keep myself busy. Also shopping since my car needs everything, so might as well make informed decisions. On a side note, I have your steering wheel adapter in my car and looks great. I als

Thanks for the replies! Yeah, not trying to slide anything by, just trying to get a feel for what's legit so I know. The 270 will have a little lope to it, not worried about that, just didn't know if it could be considered stock in any sense of the rule (Stinger stuff maybe). I think when I read the other rule, I was assuming by exhaust tubes, they meant log manifolds. Makes

That's what I figured. Just curious if the Isky got a pass if it was possibly used in Stingers or whatnot. So, headers still good in IS, just take the 20pt hit? Would any aftermarket be the same? i.e.-Kostich logs would be fine, but take the 20pt header hit?

So just wasting time at work while deployed and reading through the Corsa AutoX guide to see where my non-running, up on blocks car will someday fall. Since I've never done it, looking to stay under the 125 point ceiling and stay maybe in Improved Stock. Couple questions: It says "Exhaust system: Only stock exhaust tubes allowed, headers? . . . . . 20". It literally says

Damn, I really like that one. Looks like a fairly well sorted mid engine for cheap. Wish I would have bought it. I'd really like to get a v8 car or a yenko tag at some point.

Man, I like that one too. I think I'm sold on the 23" tires. Sucky the 50series are almost impossible anymore if you're not looking for an R compound.

Lol, they actually don't look small on your car, it's beautiful. Might just be some angles when I was thread surfing. Good input on the perceived ratio change. Makes sense.

Perfect, thank you guys very much! Picture is worth a thousand words. In pictures, and ONLY in my opinion, I always thought the 205/50-15 (23") looked a little tiny. I'm not a rubber band tire guy, but these don't look too bad at all. Thanks much! I don't know if I'll end up doing autoX, but I don't want to spend money twice and I'm kind of partial

Anyone running the Rivals? I'm wanting to stay with 15" wheels, but having a hell of a time finding tires. I know the 60 series are popular, but I would like a 50 series, and only found one of those. Even lower profile are the Rivals. I'm looking at 225/45 in front and 245/40 in back. Both 23" tall. 15x7 front-4.5"BS, 15x8 back-5" BS. I'm really tryin

My '66 Corsa has the Teflon rectangles and also has an aluminum/steel (?) shim matching rectangle that the Teflon plate sits in to.

I don't have those, but I like the look of them also. If it's in your budget, then go for it, I'd be curious to get your opinion on the setup. Recaro's are damn expensive, but Corbeau makes a lot of nice options too.

I used Rust Bullet. Same kind of deal as POR 15. Had a couple pin holes, but cleaned everything up, coated thick, coated fabric screen "patches", and everything dried epoxy hard. I'm not worried about it at all. I used NVX deadener, same a dynamat, but little cheaper through Sonic Electronix. Good product. I personally won't use roofing stuff, especially not asphalt bas
