If you are looking for 94MM barrels with a thicker wall then you can contact Autobahnengines.com. The owners name is Jr Bohn, He made a set of 94mm barrels for my twin turbo engine with full circle fins and a thicker wall. No distortion problems. I checked with Clark's and they have no new pinion shafts perhaps used but I didn't ask. I am still contemplating manufacturing a run of 50 if there enough interest in this project.

Craig: If I understand it correctly they bought shafts from Bob Anderson. I will get the facts from Bob and/or from Clark's and post them here. I know that Bob had them manufactured here in Portland and have contacted the shop that did them they are willing to produce more if the order is sufficient in quantity.I had other parts made there and they were of high quality.

I am considering manufacturing new pinion shafts, late model only, and need to see what the interest is in this project. If enough people are interested I will post cost of each unit and and what deposit will be needed. I know that most of our cars have many many miles on that shaft without being looked at for wear. I can assure you they are not pristine. Thanks Duane Cartwright Cartwright

Bob: I do have two engine programs I can run to see trends of different combinations of parts. I would like to get more information on the cam profiles. Can you email me your phone number to cartwrightinjection@gmail.com and I will call and discuss so I better understand how to approach the query. Duane Cartwright

I could't agree more that EFI is not a cheap item but IMHO it is worth every penny spent weather it be on Ray's nice throttle body conversion carbs the TMW system in the picture or my, Cartwright Fuel Injection, they all are better than CARBS hands down There are, of course, the purists that want only carbs and that too is good. As always there is more than one way to skin the carb or cat.

Gentlemen: To answer the questions of what rpm and power band are the following: power off idle is significantly better than 140 or 110 but then really kicks in at about 3000rpm. This is something you can feel more like a turbo and accelerated to 6000rpm. This engine, depicted in Regans picture, made 150ft/lbs of torque at 1900rpm and 210 ft/lbs at 5500rpm. The torque curve is mostly flat with

Comp cams makes these springs and there claims are they use ovate wire coupled with the decreasing diameter will reduce valve spring harmonics, and rev higher due to mass reduction. There may be other beneifits but I have not seen them in there adds or when I spoke with them about a set for my roller cam motor. I am going to use them as soon as American-pi completes my block so I can prep the he

Brett: There are two people you should contact they are Gary Robinson, his normally aspirated 170 cid went 155mph or so at Bonniville estimated HP around 300+ and Tom Keosibobian,sp error, his car at one point was traveling near 180mph until he lifted a head and limped to a record on three cylinders. If you would like there phone numbers contact me off line at dtcartwright@comcast.net. inj

I have used two companies, Swain Tech located in NY @ swaintech.com. I have had pistons, barrels, and heads coated there with excellent results. I have also used a company here in Oregon called Finishline Coatings. Both have given me the same operational results. The Oregon Company, since it is close, has had most of my business. It is true that you can coat your on parts as it is no longer

Gentlemen: I have been using internal coatings for some time now and have had excellent results with them. How have I measured those results you might ask. Lower head temps, lower oil temps are the two major predictors of less heat transfer to the pistons, oil. I have not themocoupled the exhaust but I am sure I would have seen higher exhaust temps concomitant with the use of the coating in the

There are emmisive coatings that will prevent rusting of your cylinders and provide for better heat transfer to the cooling air. This can be applied to the cylinder heads as well and it will lower the head temp. These coatings are not extremely high priced but more expensive than a rattle can.

I have a T-5 but as stated there were some welding issues in the trans, hydrogen embrittlement, and some bearing changes too be made, I think in the clutch gear area. Kent Sullivan is in contact with someone in Texas that is or has made the design changes that eliminate these potential areas of failure. There is too be a paper published that details the repain procedures needed to fix the potenti

First let me address my 14HP gain on my car. The initial run was made with all equipment functioning, alt. connected and fan operating. The belt was removed and the engine was run again. The HP gain was 14HP with no lower shrouds. The reason it is lower then the oft published number of 27HP might be due to the restriction provided by my manifolds and plenum, At this time that is the postulated re

These are all chassis numbers not corrected for STP. The upper curve is the torque the next one is rear wheel hp and the somewhat serpentine middle line is the fuel curve before I really tuned it in ernest. Depending on whom you speak to the flywheel correct power can be any where from 12% to 15% more than the HP on that chart. I choose to use the lower number (12%) as my uncorrected HP number.

Attached is a picture of the injection system I am using, it is of my own design and produces 195HP and 200+ ft/lbs of torque. This engine makes 1.14 hp/cid.This is not a race engine but a test mule to evaluate the injection system. I would suspect with appropriate modifications 1.5 hp/cid would be easily possible.

Here is my first tuning of my 170 CID fuel injected motor. This was done on a Super Flow dyno. The engine has my fuel injection system with a Haltech E6K injection and ignition controller. The injectors are 26lb/hr low impedence type and the ignition is MSD DIS controlled by the E6K firing a Ford Thunderbird coil pack, waste spark. The exhaust is 1.5" by SC Performance with unequal length headers

I have been trying to post my dyno charts but they are always too large and do not meet the max allowed. How do I shrink them down to viewable size. Need a geek. D. Cartwright
