Oh I have no doubt I could make them work. I have my single injector a bank running factory smooth. Just a matter of getting the engine built up. The body on my vair has seen better days.

Why must you post things like this ????. I need another project right now like a hole in my head, but I would love to do a multiport setup. Just to lazy to modify some heads, and in steps Seth. What would shipping be to 61523?

My FR steering box has made a pretty significant difference to my corvair. With 14 radial tires, this steering box, efi, and modern seats. I can get in my corvair and go just about anywhere without hesitation, however you define it LOL.

Love that Buick Special. I have been wanting to snag one of those to land a modern power plant in, do a bit of a resto-mod. I do track days with this ride, 2017 Performance Pack mustang. I have added the safety gear and did some motor upgrades, including a 3.0L whipple. Inhad a blow out last year at 152mph. So I am piecing it back together and doing aome upgrades.

I have cooked on a green egg and a couple variants, The green egg works well but they all are within about 3% of each other if you take the time to learn your rig. If the doors have to vary I will probably have to use a separate controller. I would have to add another temp and map sensor. I am going to do a bit of research.

They have linear actuators with position sensing built in. I have two driver outputs left on my EFI controller. I am contemplating if I need the flaps to open variable or would it be ok just to pop them open around 175 or 180. I go in to closed loop at 160. If you could get ram air while cruising the highway you could possibly shut the flaps, a bit to say on fan power. Or another idea would be to

Kevin, this is incredible. I really had not thought about all the impacts the fan has on power and driveability. I barely run my engine up to 5K as it is just an ice cream scooter, but the fan noise is noticeable. I have spent the last couple year adjusting my fueling maps to deal with the transient temps during engine warm up and operating temp saturation. Also I have found on cooler days if you

Congratulations, I had no idea Nick's car was even for sale! As you know he did a tramendous job! We started our 64's at about the sametime. He took the high road so to speak. I spoke to Nick time to time about parts and similar projects. My corvair was just something for the kids to have fun in going to the ice cream shack, It has many of the common body issues associated with this yea

I think what would make the valve spring presentation interesting is to have and actual head there with both a stock valve spring and and LS1 valve spring installed, and then the two springs side by side on a table. If someone has an old junk head with a valve spring in it, I have the rest. If I could get the head in the next week I could put together a decent presentation. I think either way I w

What does a presentation consist of? I am in Peoria, IL so I can bring my corvair and talk about it if needed. The LS1 valve spring upgrade and EFI have been documented here but maybe face time would help others.

My post disappeared. So just to be clear I think the stock HVAC would work great! My engine is very clean and runs very clean, So I doubt fumes would be much of a problem. With that being said, I aquired my car with zero HVAC components installed. I have thought about gas and the stock stuff but unless I find a donor it will be pricey. When I upgraded the electrical system for EFI, I made 8t pret

So I am not against the stock heat system, but I was browsing and found all these Jeep heaters. Then I got to thinking what if I replace my current electric heat with a Jeep heater. I could use a liquid to air heat exchanger on the ouyput of each baffle and run a small pump to circulate antifreeze from the heat exchangers to the Jeep heater.

Some EFI lets you adjust the propagation delay which will help with the phasing of the pickup. The outer cap phasing is pretty strait forward you need to understand you are firing the right cylinder with the right post. As for EFI, if you are controlling the timing, stick a light on it until the the EFI and the timing light read the same advance.

I love the new throttle bodies, those are pretty cool. Awesome ingenuity there. I wish I would of thought of that. I like the fact your offering an MS ECM, it will add some utility to an already great system. If I had my vote, I think Seth's distributor makes the most sense. It comes in a box ready to go. You just install it and hook it to the EFI system that comes in a box ready to g

So the wife may or may not of ran her 2018 Subaru out of gas yesterday. I am not allowed to say definitively lol. At any rate I gave her my truck to drive and I pulled the corvair out to get gas and then eventually drive to work. THe ambient temp was around the 30F mark. It was evident I have never driven or tuned it below freezing. It originally did not want to start. A couple adjustments to the

I used the igniter from a chinook helicopter and a secondary steering hydraulic unit from a large wheel loader to start it. In the power generation plant it came from they used compressed air and I think they manually ignited the combustor, as it just ran non stop. In a truck that was not ideal. Had a couple interesting starts and flame outs getting that to work. I believe the one I messed with c

This was an issue that stumped me when I did my EFI conversion. I had big vacuum leaks at the base of my manifold. I ended up getting these plastic carb spacers then using some Gaskets, I believe from Dave Motohead, on each side of the spacer. I also switched to ARP studs and bolts, to have some confidence while cranking it down.
