I'm pretty sure that all of the first run were pre-orders so they are spoken for. I got mine a few weeks back. It's sweet!!

Hi everyone! Sorry, with tax season and this new world we are living in (kids around 24/7) I haven't had time to look at this. Below is a picture of my tube. I'm fairly certain when the engine was rebuilt Mel put a different tube on. Anyway, mine does not have a Corsa dash and the AIR system is long gone. Just a 140 manual now. One other question: how do you make those flares? I

Mine is a '68 Monza 140 4-speed. The picture I posted is actually from ebay. I can post a picture of the the one I took off the car tonight.

Anyone know where I can get one of these? Mine is missing a flare on end and the tube going to the pcv is cracked.

Rich is correct. It's very difficult to match original lacquer paint with urethane paints today. I did some spray outs on Danube using PPG two stage and it came out much lighter than I expected. My car was a total repaint so I ended up going something totally different with a BMW M5 color: Azurite Black.

Do I have this backwards? Should the green be directly underneath the red if everything is aligned to TDC?

I'm fairly certain it's seated all the way in. But here's a picture to verify. Again, I've never done this before. Thank you everyone for the help! With regard to the coil, I'll be on to that next once I have everything done on the distributor itself. I'm definitely a bit confused about the 12V issue.

I didn't make any marks but I'm not sure that would have helped much since I was going from the stock dizzy to the HEI. Maybe this is a dumb question but does it really matter where there rotor

I'm installing Seth's HEI distributor in my 1968 140 4-speed. Seth was nice enough to reconfigure the distributor for this application pursuant to instructions so that's done but now I have to get this thing installed and I've never r&r'd a distributor, so I've got a lot of questions and want to make sure I don't do anything wrong. First Question: I did

Just looked at that old thread and realized I never posted any pics of the wheels on the car. Now the car is on stands to fix the throttle linkage but you get the idea.

I have an entire set of speedhut gauges for a corsa cluster that I did a few years back. They are great gauges but my issue is that you can't eliminate the LCD screen and I just don't love that look. I'll get some pictures up when I can.

If you're ok with 15" I recommend the ones I picked. If you do happen to get them, let me know and I'll hook you up with some of the custom caps I did. Rev Wheels

Just use the cat6. It will be easier if you have the shielded stuff since those wires will be solid and a little stiff. Helps in getting the undersized connector away from the cable. Can I ask why you chose to get Comcast Business service if you are already connecting to your house? Comcast Business service is orders of magnitude more expensive for lesser service. Also, the contracts are a ma

Thanks Seth. I should have just had Mel do this when he rebuilt the motor. He said they seem real nice but he didn't think I needed to spend the money as stock should be just fine. Next club meeting you see him, you should give him a little bit of a hard time for talking me out of it.

Thanks Matt. Engine just rebuilt by Mel Raven. I pulled the cap and rotated. Rotor lines up with #1 and the timing mark lines up. From those two indicators it looks good but I just wanted to make sure that I don't need to go further. I saw a video of a guy saying that the timing mark can slip over time because the HB is two piece.

I picked up the HEI distributor along with the Coil from CC. I'm getting prepared to install everything and have some dumb questions because I've never done this stuff. I read through Seth's manual but it's a bit above my head. 1. I have a 140 4speed, I assume I should be following the direction to put the other springs on, correct? The manual says put the distributor in a

Thanks everyone. I went to the Portland meeting last week and had a nice time chatting with everyone. As it stands now, I'm going to find some time after tax season is over and get this thing running again. Good news is that I was able to get the garage cleaned and the car moved so my wife has her car back in the garage.

Fair enough. A little bit more on the situation. The car is my thing and my wife, while understanding, isn't a huge fan and really has no interest in riding in it. My biggest issue is that while I'm fairly handy I'm not real capable when it comes to engine work because I just don't have the background. I have all the books but sometimes it just feels way over my head and t

Just moved the car along with the family up to Vancouver, WA. As soon as I got it up here, the timing seemed to take a dump and then I severed the accelerator linkage. It's a 68 Convertible 140. I've spent probably $40K+ on the restoration and it shows well. There are still a few odds and ends that need to be cleaned up to be complete, such as a vent window weatherstrip, ashtray, bu

It's been a long and expensive road with my '68 and life has changed a lot since I bought the car. At this point in my life I'm just not sure I have the time to devote to this anymore. I have way too much money in this and I know I'm going to take a bath but I think I need to move it to a home where it will get more love.

Just moved up to Vancouver, WA area and the first drive with my '68 was a total disaster. Engine kept dying when idling and then the accelerator cable snapped. I'm mechanical but have not done much work on this car and don't feel like I can adequately diagnose the idle issues. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the area?

Before I start diving into the wiring does anyone know any obvious reasons why the left turn signal would illuminate when I hit the brakes? This is on my '68.

I bought a set right after I got my Corvair. My mechanic never could figure out how to get them right. Finally gave up and put stock ones on.
