Glad to hear you were able to get it running. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe I just received a package today that was mailed on April 7 2021 USPS 1 day Priority Mail. Go figure Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe I'll be right back, I need to run down to my Chevy dealer and place my order. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe David,
Height will be no issue, 16 foot wall height. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe I was aware of the problems you mentioned, but figured I'd learn to work around those, but I could see myself looking up and walking around and tripping myself as a bigger problem, therefore my reasoning for the clear floor lift.
Again thanks for the inputs Craig, all the more reason to go clear floor. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe cnicol Wrote:

I'm seeing 10K ALI certified clear floor lifts for around $4k.
Do you have clear floor or floor plate model? I think I have convinced myself that the clear floor models are well wo Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe thumper477 Wrote:

> You can't spend that 2 grand after that f350 diesel quad cab dually breaks that cheap lift and squishes you when it falls.
Good point, if I'm squished it doesn't matter. But I said I was only going to put a SRW (Single Rear Wheel) F350 on it, that saves an extra 400#, 2 less wheels and tires. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe Thanks Craig Great info, I was not aware that each arm had a separate rating, I just thought that the lift was rated for a max vehicle weight. The curb weight is around 7300# so I thought a 9000# lift would give a fair safety margin, I guess I was wrong, now I need to look for a 10000# lift and another $2k, that just doubled my cost. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe I'm looking for a 2 post auto lift, I think I've decided on a 9000# Asymmetrical lift. My question is does a ALI certified lift get you anything over a CE certified lift, other than making you $1000 lighter in the pocket? Would you feel comfortable under a 9000# CE certified lift with a F350 SRW Diesel above you? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago Chris Lampe I've been following his channel for a while, Matt and his son Rudy with the help of a few other rather talented friends turned that wagon into an extremely capable off road rig, I was very impressed. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Me with one of my other hobbies, the Wife, Karen on the left looking bored and un-interested. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Congratulations Dave, I have nearly 39 years with my company, they have only 157 days left with me until I can say If you piss me off today it will be my last day.
If they manage to not piss me off, my absolute last day is only 403 days away. But who's counting.
Stay active and pursue the things you enjoy. My wife and I plan to jump in our RV and golf our way across the country, enj Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe And just look at it today, it a thing of beauty.
I imagine it must be very difficult to drive in Bolivia, with all the people stopping you to ask what it is, and complimenting you on its beauty, it must take all day just to go a few miles. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe roger65180 Wrote:

What was the seller's response to your message? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Before tweaking anything remove the newly installed lid seal and check fit, the seals need to settle a bit when new, typically its very hard to even close the lid with a new seal, not sure why it would only affect one side but worth checking. I'm not sure about the late models but the early has adjustable bumpers on the rear corners of the deck lid, does the passenger side need to be screwe Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Dave thanks for the Baggie tip. I can honestly say this is one of the best tips I've seen on CCF. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Ken,
Either my eyes are playing tricks on me or it appears that there is a step down cut in half of the piston. If this is the case is the edge of the stepped area radius-ed from the higher to the lower level? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Royce,
I appreciate everything you have done for CCF, I also enjoyed meeting and riding in your yellow 1964 convertible way back in 2006 when I was in town on a business trip.
Thanks again and good luck in your future adventures. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Joel,
I have no documentation, nothing form the General in writing but I do have an early production 64 that came to me with 63 dual air cleaner setup. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Matt,
My Son-in-Law recently purchased 2 new key fob remotes for his Ram pickup from Amazon, we tried all the YouTube programing tips and tricks none of them worked. Finally I remembered that the local Ace hardware sold replacement Key fobs and programs them. We called the local Ace and they said sure bring them and the truck down and they would try it, no guarantee because they didn't Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Oh-oh here goes, putting on flame suit now.
I would think the Mustang II would be a better option over the Covair in your particular application. The Corvair is going to require a great deal of additional steering effort over the Mustang II, the Mustang II should have power rack and pinion where as the Corvair has Armstrong steering. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe This sounds typical of any vehicle with a carburetor using today's fuels. The only cure I'm aware of is adding an electric fuel pump to prime the carburetor, you would mount a fuel pump inline with your current fuel line near the gas tank, wire it to a momentary contact push button switch, press the switch for 2-3 seconds and car should start right up. Cleburne TX is a rural suburb of Fort Worth population around 30K. The weather will reach the lower 100's in July and August with moderate humidity, the winters may see a couple days of snow or ice each year, but generally this area of Texas is open year round for cars and aviation. The are several car clubs in the Dallas Fort Worth area, however there is only one Corvair club (NT Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe JRAY Wrote:

I would check with Dave Motohead or Corvair Ranch to see if they have a solid used one. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago Chris Lampe Joel,
I have the same problem right now. I mailed a package USPS 2 day priority mail on 4-18. It was going from Dallas to Houston, the package arrived in Houston on 4-22,(just in case anybody is counting that's 4 days) it was scanned out for delivery on 4-23, it was scanned as arriving in Houston again on 4-23 and had not been seen again. I called the Houston post office several times, Forum: Corvair Center Forum |
