I was aware of the problems you mentioned, but figured I'd learn to work around those, but I could see myself looking up and walking around and tripping myself as a bigger problem, therefore my reasoning for the clear floor lift. Thanks Craig Great info, I was not aware that each arm had a separate rating, I just thought that the lift was rated for a max vehicle weight. The curb weight is around 7300# so I thought a 9000# lift would give a fair safety margin, I guess I was wrong, now I need to look for a 10000# lift and another $2k, that just doubled my cost.

I'm looking for a 2 post auto lift, I think I've decided on a 9000# Asymmetrical lift. My question is does a ALI certified lift get you anything over a CE certified lift, other than making you $1000 lighter in the pocket? Would you feel comfortable under a 9000# CE certified lift with a F350 SRW Diesel above you?

Before tweaking anything remove the newly installed lid seal and check fit, the seals need to settle a bit when new, typically its very hard to even close the lid with a new seal, not sure why it would only affect one side but worth checking. I'm not sure about the late models but the early has adjustable bumpers on the rear corners of the deck lid, does the passenger side need to be screwe

Oh-oh here goes, putting on flame suit now. I would think the Mustang II would be a better option over the Covair in your particular application. The Corvair is going to require a great deal of additional steering effort over the Mustang II, the Mustang II should have power rack and pinion where as the Corvair has Armstrong steering.

This sounds typical of any vehicle with a carburetor using today's fuels. The only cure I'm aware of is adding an electric fuel pump to prime the carburetor, you would mount a fuel pump inline with your current fuel line near the gas tank, wire it to a momentary contact push button switch, press the switch for 2-3 seconds and car should start right up.
