If you disconnect the cylinders, careful where the ends of the cylinders are, I did that and got a hole in the roof from the end of the cylinder

Missed the front heater outlet. Check the door seal, water will run down and come out around the outlet. The rockers should be sealed on the convert as it is the air duct so no water should get in there. You can try spraying small areas to see where it's getting in.

After washing check the shelf in the trunk for water, it can get in there also. Is the drain hole at the bottom of the fender open?

You should need to change your timing when you switch. The port for the choke pull of has vacuum at idle advancing the timing.

Did you check mating surfaces for warpage? Did you torque the bolts 7-13 ft/lbs?

Saw a parts drawing but couldn't save it. It is air only the seal is mounted to the top of the I beam and the cylinder put on top of that. Air over oil would have a air pump to pump the oil so you normally here the jacking action. this site say they can ID and provide drawings john

Standard Brand Automotive Products with a T in the part # are made in China and are low quality. With out the T they are the better quality but may not be made in USA
