Some charts are showing yellow as 10,000 and other charts 100,000. If the same as resistor it would be 10,000 multiplier so 100000. I don't know what unit it would be.

Is there some thing(setting tape?) holding this to the glass, or should the metal be pinched for a tight fit or is it just the small screw at the bottom?

You may need to remove the lock from the switch. I don't remember how but a pin is inserted in the small hole and the key turned a certain way.

What is the battery voltage? then battery voltage when cranking? I had one where it would crank but voltage too low to get spark.

I use the gas heater in my rampy, I figure no more than 2 mpg and I get about 21 mpg(Canadian gallon)
