A late July convention does cause some publication problems, but it is disappointing that the September issue is missing convention content. If Don Keefe reads this I agree with Jim Bartasevich's comment on page 8: I can’t say that I like the “dried lake bed” trim across the top and bottom of the pages. It doesn’t have any connection to Corvairs in particular and automobiles in

I fought the turn signals for over two years, they would work for a while then go wonky again. I finally gave up and ordered all new parts from Clark's and haven't had a lick of trouble since. Moore

The missing issues of the Corvair Communiqué are 1963 volume 1, issue 1, 1.3 and 1.4. 1964 2.3 1965 3.2 The fourth and I believe final year is complete. The pre-1980 documents were scanned at 600 dpi. This was done to try to help the OCR (optical recognized character) program to recognize the many different forms of text. Except for the Corvair Communiqué the early documents were made by

Alan Lacki wrote:For what it's worth, the Corvair Communiques that are posted on the CORSA website are already in color. They aren't high resolution copies, but they're out there if you want to read them. Just to let those who might interest know: The early documents (through 1980) were scanned at high resolution. Then downsized for easier downloading for the online library. I do have the high

The first review of the Hall of Fame on TripAdvisor does mention the Corvair display. Other grand opening attendees may want to leave a review and add a photo. Moore

Sadly the hall of fame's website hasn't been updated in years. No mention of the Corvair display. It may have more info on facebook, but someone else would have to look that up. TripAdvisor link to Museum. GMoore

CORSA need to add a CORSA Bolo to their store. If the grille badges weren't so big they could be converted. We gave away 300+ of the grill badges at the 2017 convention. Monza, Spyder, Corsa bolos would be cool too. Sorry for the bad bolo representation. GMoore

My wife Helen and I are in the west Denver area for a wedding. The wedding is later this evening giving us the morning to visit local attractions. We could have chosen from 100s, but decided to have lunch with our friend Steve Goodman in Golden. We found Steve's new shop, he has only been there for 21 years. Steve gave us a tour, basically his shop is divided into four areas. Long term projects,

For me it was "El Grecko" on display at the 2013 Great Plains Corvair Round Up in Wichita KS. The story goes it was owned by a man who made his living as an traveling one man band. This great piece of....art is still available. It may be on display this year as the GPCRU will return to Wichita. Yes that is the fabulous Timothy Shortle and his near equal Jerry Pentzer eying the van!

Make sure the holes in the shifter rod at the transmission end are not wallowed out and the pin fits tightly. A little wallow at the transmission end will magnify shifter travel. Check the other pivot points for wear. See page 116 Clarks Catalog.

Charger definitely works. Further research has found that ESB does stand for Electric Storage Battery Corporation. Founded in 1888 ESB developed the battery for the fist electric submarine the USS Holland in 1899. Now I have to research the Holland. ESB started building personal use battery chargers and testers in 1938. The early chargers and testers are disable by collectors. GMoore

I received a Jordan battery charger (photo) as a gift from my father-in-law. He had purchased it at a garage sale from his neighbor, a retired owner of a auto body shop. A google search found little information on the Jordan charger. There were a few vintage Jordan chargers for sale on eBay and other sites. Those look much older than this one. Apparently the Jordan chargers are produced by ESB, w

Our Rampy came with a full sized Chevy Truck seat cover. The installer did a fine job the only tell tale sign were gussets on the back side to take up the extra material. The restoration process was to include replacing the cover with a new one from Clark's. But we ran out of time and entered the Denver Concours with the full sized cover in place. We received no demerits for the seat. GMoore
