This seems a bit small for a 11/32 stem given the elasticity of Teflon. I tried mine on a piece of 5/16" drill stock (no burrs) that miked 0.311. It was a tight fit, but I could push it on with some effort. My conclusion is that either I got 5/16" seals or their vendor has a tolerance Forum: Corvair Center Forum 13 days ago MonzaDave wittsend Wrote:

> Been there..., done that. Mine came from Rafee who is NLIB. So, I have five with no return possibility. I never did measure the size. I got a set of Viton's from John Sweet. Penn. to Cal. and they arrived quickly. I used heat shrink tubing to protect the seal from sharp edges. Yes,intake only. Their tech guy said I could Forum: Corvair Center Forum 13 days ago MonzaDave 5. Valve Seals I posted this on Corvair Owners Group, but it will probably be deleted as "vendor bashing" and probably here too. But . . .
I ordered Teflon valve seals from Clark's. They wouldn't fit. Valve stems measured 0.341, inner diameter of seals measured 0.305. Clark's tech guy told me that the Teflon seals fit hard. I know. But Teflon doesn't stretch 0.036 -- I h Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 months ago MonzaDave I use thread sealer. There are several brands available. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 months ago MonzaDave I'm very happy with Mark's repro sticker for my '69. He sent it as a file so I can print copies. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 months ago MonzaDave Fraud, I'm afraid. What you do about it is up to you. I Forum: Corvair Center Forum 8 months ago MonzaDave I have a quick box and the factory arms, but it's a bit too quick with today's wider and stickier tires. Might be better without the arms. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 8 months ago MonzaDave Konis are great on my '65. They are a key part of my suspension set-up -- F41 springs, urethane bushings, and a good front air dam. Very stable into the mid 90s (and probably beyond). I have them set at about 50% to get what I consider both a good ride and good handling. As I approach a corner I can set up the car so I can transit the corner by steering with the throttle. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 9 months ago MonzaDave 2manyvairs Wrote:

That's what I read. Doesn't sound like crack to me. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 9 months ago MonzaDave Get the Gas Buddy app and you can view gas prices anywhere in the country. Why clutter the phorum with useless recounting of your favorite gas price? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago MonzaDave UnauthorizedServiceTech Wrote:

Do you have any examples of internet forums from the 60s that we could reference for 60s styling? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago MonzaDave I am very pleased with the window sticker Mark made for my '69. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago MonzaDave I had 3M chip guard applied to the front and below the lower break from front to back. It's worked. Being below the break line, it's quite invisible. But I don't show my cars anymore. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 10 months ago MonzaDave Japan used to require these types of mirrors. You may not like the looks, but functionally they are wonderful. They are in your line of sight and you don't have to refocus your eyes to check the mirrors. Our Toyota (in Japan) had mirrors that were power and slightly convex. Great in Tokyo traffic! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago MonzaDave I don't care for either the air dam or the wheel thingies. Too much show. But that's just my opinion. Nope, shouldn't be an issue. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago MonzaDave I use the bracket on my performance street car because I think it's stronger than the stock brackets. I've redrilled mine 3/4" up as per Seth's comment. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago MonzaDave You may find that your local library has one or more slide scanning workstations. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago MonzaDave I have a lot of '69 Corvair stuff, but I couldn't find any brochures without punches. What I did find was interesting, and demonstrated just how little Chevrolet cared about the '69 Corvair. It's a "1969 Chevrolet Advance Ordering Information for Chevrolet Salesmen" brochure. The only Corvair mention are two small sample pictures of Corvair upholstery. The word & Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago MonzaDave I recently gave away about 100 Popular Mechanics Magazines from the '50s. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago MonzaDave Yes. A bit tedious, but quite doable. I had no wrinkles. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago MonzaDave Door edge guards have one purpose and one purpose only. Keep you door edge from getting chipped when you slam your door into another car. Anytime I see a car with door edge guards, I see a person who doesn't care about dinging another car's door.
