Already hung the tag on it. Shouldn't be a problem now. It's also the only painted trans, so it will be hard to forget why it's painted.

Thanks for the reply Ken. Normally, I would toss this on the recycle pile, but it's harder to do when you have sweat equity in it. The 4-speed internals I just removed are going to have a nice storage container for now.

Matt, Don't have a problem ID'ing. More a problem remembering where this case came from. I just didn't realize I even had a 3-speed case. Pulled it off the shelf and cleaned it up and had it primed before noticing.

Thanks Mike. I managed to get a 4-speed disassembled and will do a more in-depth internal inspection tomorrow when I get the 4-speed case cleaned up. Determined not to throw this case out.

If I'm not mistaken, the Tidewater Banner is 5' wide, 3' high. Designed to accept a pole through the pocket on the top length....with gold fringe on the sides and bottom.

Figured Mike or Ken would jump in. I’ve already started breaking down a 4-speed. Just hate to have all that effort go to waste. It’s already in primer and was almost to the point of gloss black being applied.

I find myself in the unenviable position of having spent an entire day cleaning a case (late saginaw) only to realize it’s a 3-speed. It has been on a shelf for years, no internals, and I didn’t even know I had a 3-speed case. My question is, other than the squelch plug on the bottom, are there any other differences between the two cases? My intent was to prep the case and build up a 4–spee

I've seen it a couple of times. Eddie actually had it at the auto-X in Lake County. He had worked on it, and was very pleased with the car. There was;however, an accident when he had it on (or was putting it on) the lift. Resulted in a good size dent on the drivers door. Don't know if the owner has had it repaired, but I would guess it would be difficult to match that color, especially if it's no

WRT the pink car, ask for a picture of the left side, especially of the door.

Powder coating adds dimension, as you are aware from building Alice. Epoxy primer and paint on suspension is my preference, but to each his or her own.

Raccoon Creek State Park is the recommendation I received from the Host. This is a park where I played and fished as a kid. Loved it.

I have a set of 2-1/16" Autometer Sport Comp gauges for sale. As you can see, the Water temp. gauge has a small dent on the bezel, otherwise all gauges function correctly and are in excellent condition. $125.00 + shipping. May trade up or down. PM please. forsale

Install the fan on a relay. Shortens the amount of impedance the current sees.

FWIW, my Crown V8 came with that alternator bracket. It went to the scrap metal bin shortly after I purchased the car. I bought a bracket off ebay that allowed me to bolt my alternator in front of the mechanical fuel pump location. If you have long legs, you will understand.

I have been using 303 protectant for years on my kayaks. No experience on vinyl tops, but if their marketing says it works on it, I wouldn't hesitate using it. What makes it worthwhile for me is that it is the best UV inhibitor I've found.

The Chevrolet dealership went by the wayside a while ago. I remember the dealership changed names to Sun Chevrolet, but there was a Yenko Honda subsequently. I would need to move a lot of cobwebs to provide dates.

Those pictures were taken about 4 years after I left Canonsburg for the Navy! I remember the Turbo Z's. I sat in a blue one while I was in the dealership. I tried convincing my Dad to buy one, but he went with the Monte Carlo instead. Noone going to ask about the address on the sticker? The Yenko dealership moved to Route 19 in the neighboring town of McMurry, can't remember what year that was

Hey 62fourdoor; welcome to the community! I'm presuming you're a Central Florida resident. Our club, Central Florida Corvairs, is having a get together at Blue Springs State Park this Saturday (Jan 13th). Please feel free to come up and join us. We are having a chili cookout, so bring a pot of chili or a desert or side dish to share, and meet the local Corvair experts.

I'll be there this year. Downloaded and completed the registration form a couple weeks ago before realizing it was last years. Not going to vend, but may have some "unique" items for sale that I would be willing to deliver to Springfest. Will start a new thread when I have a list put together.

KT, Welcome, and a word or two of advice: 1) Find a local club. Your most valuable resource. 2) If you haven't committed yet, find a member of the local club with extensive knowledge and take them with you to finalize the deal. They will likely be able to point out any problem areas you may not be familiar with, and give you a better position to negotiate from. 3) Consider joining CORSA, th

IMHO thr HVs can provide as much flow as the heads can handle. If you're looking for more flow, look to modify the exhaust side first. Angle port exhaust, headers and port work will do more for the fun factor than anything you can do on the intake side.

Ken, How much time do you allow for curing of the RTV before final assembly. I find that cure time makes a big difference in whether there will be future leaks. I typically lay the gasket along side the pan and do a very small bead (1/16") inside perimeter of both, then around each bolt hole, and let cure for about 20 minutes before assembly.

From one vet to another, thank you for your service. The first 10% is easy, everything after that is a fight, as you probably already know. If you haven't already completed your discharge physical, ensure you let them know about your hearing loss, tinnitus if you've ever experienced ringing in your ears, and every ache, pain or twitch you've experienced. Any eye problems you've had, etc. wheth

In MD, you shouldn't have an issue keeping it cool. I'm modifying mine to open the area under the bumper a little more. I have a Flexilite 3600 cfm electric fan and a 160* thermostat that worked fine when I was in Tidewater. You do have to work to purge all the air out of the system to prevent overheating.

The owner of this car is a good friend, and I took it out for a spin last week. This thing has a crazy amount of torque. Much quicker off the line than my Crown car. First thing I would do if the car were mine...a roll cage to strengthen the body, like I said, this thing has a crazy amount of torque. At the price he's asking, I thought about buying it to swap the engine and Crown headers into my
