Even though it's not on the Convention schedule there will be a board of directors meeting held at the convention. Enjoy the Corvair!

This statement does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the CORSA Board of Directors. It is simply information that should be shared. Two important points from a historical perspective; 1) CORSA has never received bulk ballot submissions. At least in the past 20-25 years. Therefore no procedure is in place for handling this situation. 2) There is precedence for a shorter election

ANYONE know how many 1960 Corvairs were built in Oakland? I think this car is a VERY Late Oakland build. I think the "6C" on the trim tag indicates 3rd week of June. Any other info you can comment on from that tag would be much appreciated. Enjoy the Corvair!

That rear grill looks like one that used to be available from JC Whitney(?) Anyone confirm? I think it looks good on there. Enjoy the Corvair!

Eric, That is a beautiful car. 67 model year is my favorite (my 1st Corvair was a 67 Monza). You were very lucky to find it. Enjoy the Corvair!

It's located about 20 minutes East of Sedalia, MO. Technically Otterville, MO. He is right on a state highway. Enjoy the Corvair!

BTW, I finally got him to put a # on this car. His price is $1,500 but I think it could be purchased for less. He also has a pretty decent 64 Monza Coupe 4-speed 110hp. White over red interior. Runs and drives fine. He would like to trade both cars for a decent running/driving EM convertible PG. He would take $4,000 OBO for the pair. I really like the '60 coupe but the timing is

Yes, I could find 4-forward gears and reverse. You'll notice in the pic of the interior that shows the shifter it's actually in reverse. The guy is a long-time used car salesman. He's got the price negotiation thing down. Mel, I will try your approach with him. He's a nice guy and thinks this is a parts car. I don't think he paid much for it and mostly just wants

The front seat is so nice I think it's been recovered. The back seat looks original. There may be some thin spots in the floor I couldn't be sure because I didn't crawl under it. It looks pretty solid. Enjoy the Corvair!

BTW, it is a 4-speed. (I could shift it through all 4-gears) - The windshield will need replaced - The brake pedal goes to the floor - The carburetors have been removed and one disassembled. - Did not try to turn the crankshaft but I think the owner said it turns. He said it is for sale but would not give me a number. He bought it as a parts car for his 64 but none of the parts he want

NOW WITH PICTURES... Anyone want to decode the tag. I couldn't get an engine#. Lastly -- What's it worth. The guy won't put a price on it but said he bought it for parts (most of which won't fit on his 64 coupe. He wants to sell.

Thanks Frank. Besides the outside sections of the floor boards the rest of the underside is rock solid. There is some cosmetic rust that will need to be cut out and replaced over where the muffler is, the ramp lower outside surface and panels both to the front and rear of the ramp. That's it outside of many small dents. Enjoy the Corvair!

Thanks Mel. It's tough to tell from that pic. We also have a tall jack to raise/lower the vehicle. My buddy thought that we should be able to spin the truck around 360 degrees on it's long access like he has done with LM Corvair coupes but the truck is too tall for that. Enjoy the Corvair!

Good day! My Rampy is now on the rotisserie. I have a question for the group. More specifically anyone who has put a rampside body on a rotisserie; How did you get it to balance? It seems to us(my buddy and I trying to get it situated) that the Rampside body is a fair bit heavier on the RH side. We had to slide the front attachments way to the left to get it somewhere close to balance.

Tim, I was born during the first weeks of Corvair production (mid-August 1959). It'll never happen but I always wanted to see a 1960 COrvair with "08C" build date. Fun article BTW. Enjoy the Corvair! (Especially today 5/14)

I don't even know if this exists but if it does, I'd bet someone here knows what it is. Doing a dual Master cyl conversion on a 66 Corsa. I'd like to use the bulkhead connector on the second line like the factory did. Thanks very much! Enjoy the Corvair!

I have not yet seen the car. It's an hour plus from here. I spoke with the gentleman who owns it yesterday. He insists that it's a 4-speed but it also doesn't run so it's possible that it has a 4-speed shift knob and is really a 3-speed. The PO tore apart the carbs and tossed all the parts in a box and left it. According to the current owner, it has complete owner record

I see that in Tony Fiore's book, the 4-speed transmission was listed as an RPO #651. I defer to you Pete (Mr. Caveman). It sounds like an interesting car. Enjoy the Corvair!

Sorry, it already has a 4-speed. Just wondered how much chopping/re-engineering would have been done to get it in there. I'm guessing just a transmission cross-member swap(?) Enjoy the Corvair!

Follow up question...how big a deal would it be to swap a 3-speed for a 4-speed in a 1960. A cave man I am not but may become one depending on this car. Enjoy the Corvair!

Good day! I could probably do some digging and find the answer but I'll bet someone here knows it right off. I was speaking with a gentleman today who has a 1960 700 coupe with a 4-speed transmission. Was a 4-speed transmission available in 1960? It sounds like a pretty cool car that may be for sale. Thanks for your info. Enjoy the Corvair!
