One other way that produces excellent results is to invest $20 in a Harbor Freight HVLP paint gun, a gallon of Rustoleum enamel, and a gallon of acetone. Scuff the old paint, wipe down with acetone, thin the Rustoleum with the acetone 4:1 and spray away. All in all about $60 and the results look great. I use to spray all my dirt track cars that way and a couple daily drivers back in the day.

I might be wrong but I believe the later years are the same. I had a '67 column and it was the same as my '66.

Jimc, Ok, from what I can see I am somehow missing parts. I don't have #21 Spring and #22 Spacer. I do have #20 Clamp but did not install it because it wasn't on the diagram in the '66 suplement manual. Also I noticed my column has 2 grooves at the lower end for snap rings? One groove is more shallow than the other though. I installed the snap ring in the deeper groove where the snap

Hey All, So I rebuilt by steering column with a new lower bearing, seal, and turn signal switch. Either I put it back together wrong or something is missing. I put the lower end together identical to the 66 manual but the shaft has about 1/2" of of slide up and down? I do have some pieces for the top end but don't really knw how they go as I've tried to install them different ways with n

Hey All, Ok, so I took my steering column apart a week ago to rebuild, discovered I need some parts, ordered them from Clark's and now I can't remember how is goes back together (forgot to take pictures!). Anyway I can't figure out the bottom. I've installed the new bearing, boot and washer and now I don't know where the clamp goes. Please help! Thanks!

Ok, got all the glass reinstalled today (WHAT A FEAT!) and have a question. On the left side the 1/4 glass sits inward at the top edge (tight at the bottom edge) about 3/4" farther than the door glass thus not sealing at the adjoining edge. What adjustments need to be done to align the 2? Any thoughts, ideas? Thanks,
