Thanks for all the feedback. I plan on going with 215/45/17 in front and 235/45/17 in back. I’ll post a pick later tonight...if this SoCal rain ever stops. I definitely appreciate the different tastes in style. I notice my tastes have changed over the years and I like everything from concourse to resomod, even ...rat rods. I thought I’d never like those. I’m going to stick closer to res

What size tires are you guys running with 17 inch wheels. Mine are 17x8 with a 4.5 inch backspace. They will go on a 1965 convertible that had not yet been lowered in the front. I’ve read about some using 215/40/17 and 225/50/17Front 255/50/17Rear Please share you’re tires size and pros and cons to it. Thanks

Good to know Matt. Do any other owners of convertibles have a recommendation for exhaust?

I want to switch from the dual muffler setup sold by California Corvair’s to what you have pictures above with the hope of it being more quit.

I’m looking to buy a used Clark’s (smaller)exhaust extractor for a 140. I’ll purchase it new at the end of the week if no one has one for sale. I have the dual exhaust from California Corvair now and Love the way it sounds, especially at high RPM’s but it’s slightly to loud for my daily driver especially when the tops down or I’m in the parking garage at work. I’ve become “tha

Per Canada Seat Skins, their 1964 Chevelle front seat cover kit will fit a 1965 Corvair seat. I know the seat mounts are different. Are the frame and spring dimensions the same? Here is a link to their website: Here is a link to a discussion about GM A vs B Body seats.

I'm sure that I was the last person to complete a build with Paul. I'm thankful for the opportunity to have worked with Paul and get to know him. I truly appreciated the experience. He is one of the hardest working people I've met. If I can be half as enthusiastic and active in life as Paul I'll consider myself lucky. Paul liked to help others, he enjoyed teaching and

Before I go round two with the strut rods on my 65 Cora’s, can anyone tell me if there is a recommended method for installation. Mine are connected at the wheels and I am atempting to reconnect the 4 bolt mount to the drivetrain.

He took the time to PM me about my clutch problem and offer feedback and good information. Must have lots of good karma by now.

Attempt number two happening tonight. I am going to use the input shaft + wood + hammer to install. Wish me luck. I have another bushing on it's way in the mail, hopefully I won't need it but it's coming just in case.

So I made what I’m sure is a rookie mistake tonight and smashed then cracked the new pilot bushing. I planned on pressing it with a pulley puller but as you know there are no long bolts available to anchor in the crankshaft. I reluctantly tried tapping it in with a socket and regular hammer...then cane failure and tomorrow I’ll take Uner to work again. (Remember my car is a daily driver) I

Added the front air dam. I've heard it makes a difference at high speeds to stabilize the front end. I was surprised by how much of a difference it made. I didn't feel safe on the freeway because the car wandered from side to side but now I zoom on down my lane.

Thanks Matt. Could I use 30 weight motor oil (Amsoil synthetic) or something else?

I just learned the hard way not to pack the pilot bushing with bearing grease. Also not to use the clutch and give it gas to stay in one position on the hill or at a red light. This may be a stupid question but could somebody tell me whether I used gear or motor oil to prep the pilot bushing this time around?

I've notices the drive train running hot and getting and louder after driving for distances uphill. The same happened yesterday and now the noise that appears will not go away. I have attached a video of it. Clutch Noise The throw out bearing isn't making noise and all else except maybe the pinion gears seems okay. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Looks great, you've inspired me to do the same. I added LED last year but never thought of painting over the green(sh) housing color.

I used my lunch to check and tighten down the carbs. All four sat down quite a bit more. I took it for a test drive and didn’t hear a single pop. I love the way it drives with all four carbs working. I’ll go through them in detail this weekend and will balance them at idle and again at 1500rpm. Thanks for the help guys!

I had Bob's book and tossed it last year thinking it was over my head. Now I'm at the point where I can apply it. Purchasing another one is the least I can do for Bob though. I just wish it was available in electronic format.

Air leak...in the fuel line or elsewhere. How do I check for that? I might be lean which is why I was going up in size on the main jets. Do you happen to have a reference for the carburetor numbers?

So carbs are popping, most often at the bottom of a gear but also sporadically. I plan on double checking my valve adjustment, ignition and carbs. I know carbs need some balancing and I will do that this weekend along with checking and replacing plugs as needed. I do want to go ahead and change the main jets in the primaries to 52 and secondaries to 49. To increase power and add richness to f
