Hey Jim I guess you noticed the new coat of paint. It's been just perfect for me, has always run really well. Your wheels still get all kinds of comments! Time flies but this is still a low-mileage car, just about to hit 45k. Take care!

Thanks for your recollection of the old days, Fred! We've still got over 60 members, last year got 40 cars out to our show. These days, local Chevy dealers just scratch their heads when we try to chat with them. Note our favorite NECC racer Terry Stafford was featured in the current issue Corsa Communique with his Fitch Sprint! We recently came upon a member's collection of "

I've followed Daniel Stern for a while and he notes how much light we don't get due to the nature of the wiring, and the resistance of our old crusty switches and connections. I've bypassed the wiring with relays, sending the electrical system's full juice right to the stock bulbs and they are indeed brighter! I've also added his "DRL" module, which keeps your t

No pics this year, sorry. With a soggy, rainy day, a few club members braved the elements and had an abbreviated show. We didn't have a rain date. Oh well, there's always next year

If you move the mounting clip, and attach it so some other resonant structure under the dash, the sound will definitely change. You may or may not want to wire it to some metal rod or bracket under there to increase the residence. Later, I bought the Novita flasher and clipped it to a crossmember or something else nearby, and it became much louder. My car is covered up for winter so can'

Our club is fortunate to have founders who saved everything, and passed them down to younger members, so here's the very first membership letter from 1973. With nearly 100 members in the NYC and Long Island area (which includes Florida for many of us LOL) we expect a great show this Saturday!

The Long Island Corvair Association's annual show was a success, dozens of cars showed up despite a gloomy rainy start. The 'newest' Corvair I've ever seen showed up, and a couple of V-8 conversions, along with Terry Stafford's 64 turbo, fresh from the NECC races. I got 'best closed', all that detailing paid off! As they say, a good time was had by all! Check

Here you go, from my '69. If you find a way to tap the heater in the area, please share. The only thing this old GM fan makes now is noise. On 'high' setting you get more noise. They were required in NY beginning in 1968, though my car came from Arkansas.. joey

I didn't get a chance to speak to the owner but here are a 2 more pics of this rear engined beauty. The beautiful rear was grafted right over the corvair bodywork, resulting in 'double' rear windows. We also had a beautifully restored Auburn show up along with some other 'orphan' makes.

The show was a big hit, over 50 cars, including Terry Stafford's time trial car. Brian O'Neil from NJACE/NECC and his wife Roberta were on hand to present Stafford with the John Fitch Award and a book autographed by Fitch. Some unique custom corvairs were in attendance along with many founding members from the clubs first season in 1973. They traveled in from all across the countr
