Matt, I could not find how they scored, only found out the winner was a 1959 Rambler.

This maybe the first rally event that the Corvair ever entered. The Corvair debuted on October 2, 1959 and this event started October 13, 1959, "American International Rally". It was a 3,200 mile course. Three Corvair's entered the rally. Very cool.

I found a picture from 1972 that shows a Yenko Stinger (either #27 or #60 ?) running in the Press on Regardless Rally (POR) in the Detroit area. Driver was Dean Walker. Unfortunately it did not finish due to a differential issue from what I gather. Wonder how many other Stingers ran rally events, does anybody know? I discovered that a Corvair won the POR in 1961 and 1962. What a great ach

Al, I suggest keeping the plates with the car as part of its history. If you ever decide to sell the car, having its original plates in my opinion adds value. Who knows it may end up back in CA one day...my two cents. Yes, you are correct about YOM program, I just put a pair of black plates on my 64.

Last Sunday 10/22, Jay showed his Corvair Yenko Stinger at the Art Center of Design in Pasadena CA. I think having Jay own Corvairs has been great for our hobby. He really enjoys sharing his vairs with others. Has anyone here visited his garage? Link below shows more pics. Great Event.

It's been a very stressful week, fire was stopped 2.5 miles from my house. We were lucky but many lost everything. Loss of life has been tragic. I have one corvair stored at my friend's home, who has been evacuated. The fire is about 1,000 feet away. Had no time to get the car out, the fire moved so fast. As of today, fire fighters are holding the line. Next days predicted to have low wind s

I ended up taking my wires to Valley Wire Wheel (14731 Lull St, Van Nuys, CA 91405, Phone: (818) 785-7237). My wheels turned out stunning, no surprise since the owner Mike, restores wheels for Pebble Beach cars. Mike has no website, doesn't really advertise but is extremely busy via word of mouth. He restored my wheels with polished stainless steel spokes (made in USA). Small shop but world cl

Below is the description from the eBay ad for future reference, wanted to capture it before the ad ends: "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a prototype vehicle built by the Legend GM Designer William (Bill) Molzon. This is 1 of 1 hand built. Molzon built this mid-engine sports car from 1963 -1968 and had it titled in 1970. The car is showing 958 miles and he put those miles on

Bob, I noticed that too in the video, it was disappointing to see. But also noticed that this was the first lap of the new owner. So maybe he was going easy. Anyway love the car, great history, wish it was in my garage. Saw the car advertised on another site for $129K before it got to Canepa.

Below is a video of the Genie on the Sears Point race track: This car is amazing, so low to the ground. One thing I was surprised in seeing was the electric fan, wonder how well it cools.

Not sure if a "cruise-in" is similar to a "Cars and Coffee" event, but I do attend a CnC event in Novato CA held once a month and it's free, anywhere from 200-400 cars show up. No judging. If you want the prime spots you go early. Lots of fun.

I'm surprised that "Stinger" was not trademarked say by GM for future use. Love the name, but wish it was on something rear/mid engined.

I attended Pebble Beach Concours show last weekend and saw couple of things that might interest the group. First the new Stinger by Kia that was located in the concept car area: I can't believe they used the name Stinger ! Here is more info on the Stinger: Second a couple of Corvair "parts" did make it on the Pebble Beach show field: Custom car from the 1960's called the

New video footage of the Corvair Monza GT racing at Riverside. Anybody have more info on this? I have been in email correspondence with Roy Lonberger who was involved with the design. He has pictures of the modular 6 and 8 cylinder engines that were developed at this time. He's trying to get permission from GM to release. If you haven't seen it already great interview on Roy:

Wow, that has to be a record price for a Sprint steering wheel. Looks like the seller has more Sprint stuff for sale, some Sprint emblems and wheels. The wheels look like Hands Engineering wheels but I Believe they are later reproductions not Hands.
