I just called Hagerty to see if I can get a discount for my membership in CORSA...and they said the discount does not apply to California residents, oh well.

Not mine. But it is a local car that I have seen and it is a true survivor, very original. The rear window has the correct date code for 1963 ! If I had more room...

Agree he is dreaming,...but it is a very nice car, in fact I know this car and where it came from. Randy did a nice job cleaning it up and hope he finds a buyer that will appreciate it...if you want more info on this car PM me.

This car came out of a car barn located in St Helena, CA. The elderly gentlemen had a 12 car garage full of corvairs and other cars that were sitting for over 25 years. It appears Randy got a few of them to flip. I purchased a few myself, but plan to keep them to restore. I have a few pictures of this car in its natural state, which was not pretty. Looks like Randy did a nice job cleaning it

When I saw this car, the Vinyl Roof really cought my eye. The "Sprint" coupes I have seen on the west coast have never had a vinyl roof. Looking at the Fitch Sprint brochure, the vinyl roof was part of the Sprint goodies. Here are a couple of more pics I took of the car, it definetly has been driven a lot. The black CA plates indicate it is a native CA car and the rear license plate fra

Yesterday afternoon I saw this 62 Corvair parked by the beach in Santa Barbara, CA...looks like a Fitch Sprint...it had Hands Wheels, Vinyl roof, some faded stripes on the hood, a dash mounted tach, and even a LM tele wood wheel. I tried to find out who the owner was but no luck. Anybody know this car???

Dave, Does your body tag have an "S" listed in Group 2? If it does that would mean a rear antenna option was ordered from the factory. From what I understand a factory ordered rear antenna only came with an AM radio.

Some positive press...came across this on-line article. It says: "1965-69 Chevrolet Corvair: Forget the Nader nonsense, second-generation Corvairs are very special cars, and the convertibles are especially pretty. Corvairs are one of the few classic ’60s American convertibles that can still be had cheap. Don’t believe us? Jay Leno owns one. Enough said."

I was reading Dave Newell's book "the (in)compleat Corvair story" and to my surprise indicated that a 4-speed was an option (RPO 651) for 1960. It was introduced late in the production run around May/June of 1960. I don't recall ever seeing a Cave car with a 4-speed...so I thought I would ask the group if anybody has one???...and if you got one that is very cool!!!

Based on the info and pictures, IMO I would value the car around $1500. The options are always a factor for value, but rust is usally the big factor for a project. If it has the QSB and arms I would ask around $2000. I wish I lived closer I would make you a solid offer.

Thanks guys for your input. I agree with Vairmech, Brizo and others, I always double/triple check my stands before going under and so far my old wood creeper has done the job. Sometimes my creeper is hard to roll but otherwise works good. I'm all about safety and when I saw this new creeper I thought it was a good idea. I also have been pondering the EZ-Lift. My wife always gets concerned

What do you think of this creeper? It is pricey, but I'm thinking of getting it, I like the safety aspect of it. My old school wood creeper might have to go !
