Had a car on the lift once with a rebuilt converter.... Fired it up on the lift and within a few mins was pouring trans fluid out the bell housing. I Pulled the unit it out and found that the TC bushing was tight on the stator. It had bound up enough to cause the snout on the TC to overheat and melt the seal. These shoes are at least 40 years old, new and never installed.
111's were standard on 1960 and 1961 and will git front or rear.
Similar 189's except that have an extra thick reinforcement at the top of the shoe where it rides against

It is sits in the slighty recessed area bordered by the edge of the formed vulcanized rubber. Dont use it without it or the "figure 8" spacer. Else it will cause the through bolts to shear over time.
