Hi Dave, I haven't been on because I haven't been a Corvair owner since 2011. I have a Fiero I need Junkys help with getting a title for. If you see him online can you tell him, I'm looking for him? That's Dave.

I'm back. Vegasvair is right and I still call him up from time to time. I have a Miata, an S10 and an 86 Fiero which I ressurected from 18 years of sitting with a hole in the piston. I traded the Vair for a Miata because the trans was blown in the Corvair. A guy from Napa has it now and the interior has been redone and he's putting another trans in it. I may soon trade the Miata for a 3

Pretty much yeah. If using Rustoleum, it's best to choose a color thats available in both quarts and spray cans.

The crevasses will get rattle canned before the next rolled coat goes on. You have to wait for the spray can paint to dry though before the next rolled coat because it conflicts with the rolled paint sticking. The rattle canned coats also quickly cover thin spots so you end up not needing so much rolled coats.

Malibusled, I very much like your late model. The Miata is by no means obviously a supercar but it is 160 hp with a 5 speed with a curb weight of 2100 lbs so thats pretty decent. My guess is it will eat a stock 180 turbo late model. I like the the Corvair because it's one of those cars that was way ahead of it's time and was designed by "outside the box" thinking. One top of t

I'm not a fan of the Veilside kit either but I dont want to spend the money to return it back to stock so I'll live with it. Plus it looks like the front end would help make it hug the road a little better at speed.

If I do a Corvair again, it will have to be a LM vert with 180 Turbo, similiar to this one. I know this car belongs to someone in the group, but I'm not sure who. Sure is nice though.

I believe my 62 had something wrong with the transaxle. Aparently the guy who traded this Miata for it, his father had the exact same Monza 900 when he was young. Everything works on the Miata and it has Bose speakers, and a new top with glass window. It's in primer right now, but I plan on Rustoleum roll painting it next month. It's got a few spider cracks in the bumpers and a few chip

The 62 Monzas in my opinion are the best looking out of all the Corvairs ever made. I'm not just saying that because I own one but I prefer the trim/hubcaps of the 62 the best. If I owned a 64 I'd dress it up like a 62.

It's a 2.2 4 cyl with 5 speed. Flawless interior except the headliner is starting to sag slightly around the dome light. Tool box came with it. I like the looks of it but it certainly doesn't carve corners like my Corvair did.

Yup it's a Bradley. They aren't that rare and not worth much because there's alot of them still around and usually in very bad shape. Might make an interesting Vair transplant rod if you can fit the engine. Are you planning to finish the build?

That extra set of wheels is included. Also have a set of 60 babymoon caps also included. I still have the seats and carpet but the seats are in horrible shape. Carpet just needs to be cleaned.

In response to: Why would your parents make you sell the Corvair??punishment It's because I owe them about $30,000, borrowed since I became an adult. I'm in Las Vegas, NV. Alot of the pictures got lost when my last computer got stolen so I will have to take new pictures and also post ones that I've posted on here. I'll have lots of pics posted up in a few hours. Before a

I made a deal with my parents where they bought me a truck in exchange for me selling the Corvair. I got a 1999 S10 yesterday with 74,000 miles. My car is a drivable project at this point. It needs the seats redone or replaced and a few areas of bodywork finished. I'd like to see it go to someone who has plans of finishing it. The floors have been redone and painted but heater vent holes und

Yes I did some testing today. First its not a brake problem. Then I checked to see if the axles spin opposite directions and tried this test in neutral and 1rst gear. No problems there. Then I took my mechanics stethescope and listened to the wheel bearing, diff bearings, diff case, and trans case. All sounded a little dry but nothing unusual. I shared my findings with Vegasvair on the phone and

I hope johnnycorvair is right. Unfortunatley I didn't get to work on it tonight as I was finding out that my power steering pump in my Nissan Sentra needs replacing. I'll try to diagnose the Corvair tomorrow.

Vairmech no it didn't do any of that. I have the jackstands and drain pan now so I can begin testing today. I just drove the car out of the garage just now and tried forward & reverse at parking lot speed and no noises or issues which is weird because I had to really force it into the garage but I have had both rear wheels off the ground since then (one at a time) and they spun freely. I

Bill, did you replace the transaxle or did you fix it via replacing parts? What did it cost you and did you do the repairs yourself?
