Forum: Corvair Center Forum 7 weeks ago stratovair Wanted: GM crossover, muffler(round) and tailpipe for 61-63. Would take a hanger if available also. Shipping to Zip 14305. Thanks! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago stratovair I have a set of .020 if someone wants them they have a one-piece oil ring however I forget the brand but I could look if someone wants them Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago stratovair I would replace the cover if you have one. It would likely work, but that’s a lot of work to repeat if it fails. Just use the 518 and no gaskets and the leak will never recur Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago stratovair I coat all the surfaces, the block, top cover and baffle. No gaskets. Never a leak, as the product flexes in the heat cycles. You need very little of the product. It only “cures” when the parts are clamped together when the oxygen is no longer present . Amazing product. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago stratovair I use no gaskets, just Loctite 518 Anerobic sealer. Zero leaks in 25 years. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago stratovair Will post when next batch is available. Avg turnaround is two months. Anyone interested , please let me know and I will put you on the list for notification when ready. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago stratovair I’ve used these in convertibles as well, work great and nice level stance. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago stratovair This batch is sold out. I can let anyone know on the next batch if you want a set. Thanks! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago stratovair It’s no issue if you stick to good steel lines, no rubber, clamps, copper…lol. I’ve seen it all! Plastic fuel filters! One thing very hard to control is the stock type fuel pumps, but other than that, no problem if using proper steel lines… Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago stratovair Thanks! Wish I could post photos here, but every time I do, they get stripped. They are under the 500kb limit and jpg, and always are removed. Must be an Apple thing I guess. Can email photos on demand. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago stratovair New batch of IECO lowering springs for late model. These are exact reproductions of what IECO offered in the 60’s and 70’s. I have installed these on many cars with excellent results. only (4) sets available on this batch. See photo of how car will look. I have used these in coupes and convertibles. $450.00 USD plus shipping. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 months ago stratovair 16. Re: Brake hoses Just curious as to how it affects braking power. Certainly they must all be of one size, especially front I would think. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 months ago stratovair 17. Brake hoses Bought a bunch of brake hoses from a guy and when sorting them found about half were 1/8” ID and some 3/16”. Gotta wonder if these were to be mixed left to right! Brake pull? Seems that GM demanded 3/16”, not 1/8”. Thoughts? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago stratovair Anyone have a set of .020 cast rings for 64-69 they could sell? I have a set, but the vendor sent a set with oil rings that are the old one piece ring, not using that. Just oil rings would do, but will take what you have. Thanks! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago stratovair 20. Re: Lon Wall Lon was always a blast to talk to and enjoy a beer with. I always bought stuff from him at conventions, and he always treated me well. May he Rest In Peace.. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago stratovair Glad I could help. Nice work! I built one similar to yours for a fellow last year. Nice change from the old YH! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago stratovair NOS Thermistor $240.00. No packaging. Can email photos if desired. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago stratovair 24. Deves rings I know this has been beaten to death, but many years ago when I would “overhaul” a beater and do no more than re-ring and lap valves (all the wrong things to do but I was kid with no loot) I used to used Deves rings almost exclusively with no issues ever. Has something changed? Out on most car forums, there is nothing negative said about them, but I’ve seen several Huys here have oil control issu Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago stratovair anyone have a set of .020 over piston ring set for sale? Clark is out. All they have is Chrome, don’t want those unless desperate. No Deves, please. Grant, Hastings cast or moly would be fine. Right in the middle of the job! Help! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago stratovair Converted some to Jpg, still no go. Converted a few to png and it worked, but a real pain. Must be an easier way. Apple does not make things easy. I think it’s time to ditch Apple, so many roadblocks! Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago stratovair 2 secondary carb bases bored out to 1 3/8”. New throttle plates and new tight shafts. Cluster arms extended. I have upper parts if needed, but these are the important parts. $225US shipped anywhere in Canada or US. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 years ago stratovair I use a tablet for all my computing due to the mobile nature of my business. Battery life of 10 hours blows the old laptop which I almost never use anymore. Unfortunately some things Apple does drives me nuts. All my photos are JPEGs, and this site only uses Jpgs. I was never aware there was a difference, I will try to find an app that will convert the JPEGs to jpgs.. This is a great forum wher Forum: Corvair Center Forum |
