Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 years ago curt Rusters were the norm till Detroit decided to make rusting a much lessor problem. By the 80's cars did a lot less rusting: inner fenders, drainage, holes and I think coating inner sides doors. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 years ago curt I highly recommend placing the evaporator on the floor of the trunk. Yes it will involve a hole in the trunk floor to exhaust the heat from the condenser; also, an opening for fresh air into the trunk space. Too darn much heat in the engine compartment to install the condenser in the rear end. I used an evaporator from Old air at Ft Worth,TX....Hug evaporator under dash with ease. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 years ago curt Detnist in one state may well have to take a state board if he moves to another state.
Take this situation, an orthodontist from NY moved to Fl. He had practiced orthodontics 40 years in NY.and he wanted to have the state license where he retired. FL law made him take a standard dental exam covering general dentistry. This is probably a 30 year old story, This is the same problem with driver Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 years ago curt I remember a friend with a Falcon 6 cyl. He had to put an extra oil line in to properly oil the valve train. He said the Facons 6 cyl were deficent in valve train oil without the added line. NO idea if he is correct or not. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 years ago curt I found 4.5 filled but 5.0 qts were never a problem. Car burned a qt every 800miles at interstate speeds, other wise did not use oil. I change every 1500 to 2000 miles.. That keeps a low mileage per year driven car well.Ams oil or Brad Penn 10w 30 worked well for me. But to the farm industry's delight. Pump the under ground water to 'feed cars' via corn-ethanol, that does not made sense to me. What modern cars are certified to burn 15% ethanol? My 2018 Mazda CX5 is not. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 4 years ago curt Is timing order correct , correct wires to correct plugs? A guess on my part.
