Hi all, A friend of mine that recently bought a 1965 Corvair 180hp convertible (Not my fault. Ok maybe yes) is looking for better braking than the Clarks Corvair brake disc conversion kit that's currently installed there. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks! Lior

Hi Well.... I'm alive, I live about 50km from where the 'action' is, meaning that once in every 20 minutes I hear a BOOM of some kind, most of them are rockets that are fired on Israel and eliminated in the air by a defence system before the hit the ground... I parked the Corvair in an underground parking, so it's safer than I am I really hope that things will get

I'm right here Busy working on other projects (see here: ), while enjoying driving the Corvair just about everywhere! The car doesn't care if it's hot or cold outside, traffic or the highway, it's a pure pleasure! When not driving it, it's parking next to a relative - the rear engined air cooled NSU Sport Prinz (modified car, with the engine of the Prinz 1000 whic

Hi, Several days ago I looked under my car and discovered a huge red fluid mark under the rear-center of the car, not under the transmission but under the area where all the cables and hoses go under the cover below the car. When I had it on the lift at a friend's transmissions shop, he told me that it might be that the kick-down cable itself is damaged and leaks... can that be? it sh

Hey, I documented the process of customizing my Corsa dash so that others (as I was) that wish to do the same will be able to find it easy in the search option and do the same or better. Do feel free to comment and ask questions So......... I started with a need to see the oil pressure and cylinders heads temp in front of me. I made a Photoshop mockup to plan it: Thanks to e

Took it for a long drive today, over 150 Miles, traffic, highway, slow speed, high speed and more... it worked perfectly! No high temp light, no pressure light, just too many damn traffic lights Oh.. only one thing... one time it just went dead while I was driving it on the highway, about 50mph, engine just turned off. I stopped the car and the engine started right away like nothing happen

Already did that I just didn't post any pics of it (night here ) What I wrote is AFTER I did that and the idle can be set low and very stable, until it's in gear and it stalls... so I changed the idle in the carbs adding it a little RPM and it solves it but when in idle again it's too high... grrrr Fun to drive it anyway

DO BEWARE of Rafee... Recently I ordered parts from him, again, they arrived too quick all the way to Israel, they were packed too good and in too good quality... that made me too happy about it! Thanks Rafee ;-) Lior.

I'll make sure to cover those holes! As for that black hose, well, the picture is not updated, it's now short and going to the orifice tube. The blue one is a vacuum line that I added, goes all the way to my Corsa dash, we well with new harness I added for oil press gauge, heads (L+R) temp etc. Lior.

David I was talking about the hole in the engine/fan cover, at the right front (can't see it in the picture) where the air tube connects. See picture below... Thanks

Can I block this hole that used for the fresh air (that actually goes out from the engine bay??)? Looks like by doing that I'll have more air that goes through the cylinders rather than just out there?... edit: By the way, started the car today, it had a problem staying idle at start... I had to pump the gas for about a minute or two in about 1500 rpm to keep it running... vacuum? timi

Thanks Dan, I'll seal those holes. Don't know if it's overheating after the cleaning, still waiting for my Alternator to be rebuilt so I can check the whole thing... Matt and Ron L, if it's in the engine compartment, where will the heat go?... it will blow the hot air back to the engine compartment, where I want a cold one... am I right? Thanks, Lior.

It's easy in Israel: Someone: Hey what's that car? never saw that before. Me: Corvair, it's the only one around. Someone: Nice! can I see the engine? Me: Sure! (I'm opening the car's door as if I'm pulling an handle or something, just to see that guy go forward and trying to pop the trunk )
