I drove it for over an hour yesterday, 65+ for 15 minutes or so and the rest between 50-35, Do you think a bad seat would last that long? Pan has no visible damage and when it is running you can put you hand on it and not feel the sound. the other cove is coming off and if I do not see anything the pan will be next.

I decided to go for a longer drive now that I do not think it is going to grenade it's self. No change it runs like a champ but at certain loads and RPMs I can really hear it and at others it is totally gone. I am going to pull the passenger side cover next. If it was a collapsed lifter would I find a loose rocker arm? The noise sound like it is coming from the middle not the heads. Is the

I let it run for quite a while and the noise fades in and out a bit when warm and in gear. I thin drove it and under load you can hear the noise but costing or maintaining speed on flat ground it is hard to hear. Yesterday I pulled the drivers side valve cover and did not find anything out of the ordinary. It did confirm that the sound cam speed not crank speed. If you pick a valve to watch it is

I don't have anything official to share but when I was a member of the Capital City club in Madison the story I heard on a number of occasions was that the first meeting was in 62. It was heled at the Chevy dealer as it was part of some program to get Corvair owners together. They continued to have meeting at the dealer for years. Maybe Roger R. will chime in with some more details.

I am going to do some tear down after I check compression. I have a main seal leak and after 14 years it would not hurt to do a basic reseal if it turns out to be something minor. I have a rebuilt 64 front and rear suspension that I have just had sitting because I did not want to stop driving the car. I think I will use this as an excuse to do all the work I have been putting off. I will let

Well Teds fuel injection works so well I have worn out my motor. GGGGG I built this motor myself 14 years ago and I am no engine builder this was my first non Brigs engine I ever built. Best I can tell my motor has 40k on the clock, 30 of which have been in the last few years. I have done regular oil changes but It sounds deep to me, let me know what you think. I am going to pull the top cover

From what I understand the factory put then on front always, Dealers would put them on the front or the back. For actual use and weight distribution the front makes sense but I like the look of the rear mount much better and I have hauled quite a bit of lightish stuff on my rear mounted rack with no issue.

Tom thanks I would love to have the file. My tests were in PLA and they drooped but held. Then I did one in ABS and it has been fine all summer here in NC with many +100deg days. ABS has been much harder to good prints out of my machine.

Tom, the original stuff is called rock wool and then as yours shows had a clear film over it. Then there were five white buttons that held it up over the air cleaners and the generator fan. I have been trying to 3D print the buttons and have some I have been testing in my wagon. I based my design off of pictures and measurements from an original, but do not have one to hold and measure myself. An
