These lids would be made of acrylic, not polycarbonate(lexan). Acrylic is easy to polish out with a common paint polishing system !

I am currently saving up for a house purchase next year(Kootenay region of BC north of Spokane), therefore I am trying NOT to spend money. Hence the use of the drum brakes for now. I might just install my trusty old 402 BBC instead of building the 427, until I'm 'over the hump'

I'll agree, I do not like that shifter either, I've driven a couple drag cars with those. Mine is a Mr Gasket(I think...) ratchet shifter. I used it in a previous car & has worked well for me. And you don't need 3 hands to operate it. But I've always tried to use factory GM shifters if possible, I just make a new detent so you can't hit neutral. They have the be

It appears I did not get any pix of the pieces I painted with the black speed enamel... but next was installing the nylon bushings & sandblasting/buffing & painting every part, bolt, nut & washer for the susp.
