Thanks Dave for plug. The Canyon/Colorado front air dam or spoiler I selected is the 2wd version otherwise you get the tow hook of the 4wd version, which I felt might hang too deep and drag on curbs and culverts. It dies it’s job and does eliminate front end wander at highway speeds. These are ABS plastic and are easy to cut down since the original piece is wider than a LM Corvair width but

When using laptop I do leave a tab open when home, but this issue occurred logging in by I-phone and so I don’t have a tab to leave open. However, I have used this phone for four years without issues, until other day, so maybe it was sun spots or neighbors new Mustang????

I believe Original poster said he had points. Is the original style metal turbo fuel filter still in line! Have you checked the fuel output at carb, for rust or debris? Despite the fuel pump rebuilt check the fuel pressure. If you have debris save yourself some headaches and change the fuel tank, Clarks has a good price. Your carb should be checked again for post installation debris.

Chris, I believe that is correct. I bought all mine from Clarks but the Clarks label were a bit off center and a Steele logo was showing from underneath.

Claus, if you are going oversize bore than you have to get oversize copper gaskets since any hot head gasket material hanging into bore might cause pre ignition of fuel. I had oversize and thinner copper head gaskets custom made at GasketWorks USA LLC I provided the outer and inner measurements and they stamped the gaskets. The thinnest they can stamp and maintain quality was .022” and pric

Second on Sam’s reply, change to a non Corvair alternator pulley and Move your belt guides (64-69) from passenger side on engine cover to drivers side or get one if belt guide is missing. Triple check all your pulleys are running true and bearings are good.

For those of you still looking for the Chevron grease cartridge, I ordered it from NAPA two weeks ago. It came from their Texas or Oklahoma distributor. I have not drained the John Deere corn head oil out yet and not removing QS box from car, so some JD oil will remain inside to mix with Chevron grease. I may try suction tube but Hopefully it will mix well and not start sprouting corn stalks o

I am usually too impatient to order online but I have an auto body paint supply shop just a few blocks from home l. While I was lucky to find lite fawn to match my Clarks interior I was told be there owner they could match most colors, add a “flexibility” agent and provide a pretty good substitute for SEM paint in an aerosol can. Just clean the old parts well either with rubbing alcohol or

I feel for your dilemma. Our ‘65 Corsa was originally Sierra Gold Metallic, (I disliked) and with off-white lite fawn interior (liked), but I loved the Corvair ‘66 Aztec Bronze color with lite fawn interior which has some small metallic and I had a paint spray card matched to a ‘66 sample. We choose a two stage paint but a less glossy clear coat to simulate s 60s look. Corvair 1966 Aztec Bronze

I signed up with NOMOROBO but still get calls on cell and landline but it is better than nothing. One of the problems with current system is the phone companies makes money on both ends selling products, like caller ID and call block and allow these “marketers” to use equipment that simulates your area code so the incoming call to induce you to pickup a otherwise innocent call. I agree the

Just wondering out loud. What If? Your thoughts on the potential sales success of Mustang introduction in 1964-1/2 if the Mustang II had been the model introduced instead of the original Falcon based Mustang. The 1973 Ford Mustang and Mercury Capri shared a lot of parts and wife and I owned a German made 1973 Capri with V6 which was sporty car but terrible in wet or snow and marginal and no

I stopped in at his business back in 2016 and he sells a lot of high end European cars but in our brief discussion he was not generally impressed with Corvair owners and told me “worst thing about Corvairs were the owners”. He further said “we were cheap and performed bailing wire and tape repairs”. The former might have been or is true but I differ on the later remark. I would not be surprise

I replaced my two large diameter heater hoses near exhaust system with an EPDM, synthetic rubber, hose with an internal plastic matrix not metal matrix to avoid possible shorts against starter or cutting the LM hollow axles. This EPDM was made for industrial uses for air delivery with resistance to heat and oil conditions. This was available in correct diameter online from industrial supply so

Ted, Great project. Look forward to end product. Will the foam casting process reproduce a fine surface that would only require minimal finish machine work and do you intend to provide the heads finished machined for combustion chamber and intake pad surface finished and ready for valve installation? Do you intend to install seats and guides?

Nice job Will, I used seat “cousins” of your Chevy choice. My seats are 2000 Pontiac GP coupe, leather, rear lower cushion fit without any mods and the upper cushion is bolted to stock LM Vair horizontal support member behind the cardboard shelf via the Pass Thru/Armrest. Built a new parcel shelf flush to headrests.

Wrinkle paint by Duro and others for your Corsa dash, if any texture is loose then sand it lightly and feather out those areas. Then follow directions with multiple light coats. It is available in a semi black that is a good match fir original Corsa and glove box. The Corsa textured skin is thin metal over plastic so you can sand it lightly. Phil, Wrong team? I guess the fans in Phily would agree with you, it was a rather raunchy display in the city of brotherly love. This Wednesday will be our time to show “our” civic pride. Union Station downtown KC Missouri will be packed. Phil, Good luck to your Halos this year.

The company had plants in Almont, Bad Axe, Ubly, Imlay City, Yale, Romeo and Washington at one time. Hamill Production later moved to Mexico where they still produce passive restraints systems today.
