There is absolutely no reason at all to put anti seize or anything on a head gasket on a Corvair, You make sure the head surface is dry, clean and flat as well as the cylinder top edge being clean, flat and perfect, copper head gaskets are soft when new, or need to be annealed if they are being re-used to soften them back up, once you torque the head properly the cylinder presses both the stock st

I don't think that is the problem, if that 3 tanged pump drive washer is stripped it would not still drive in reverse, it would do nothing, that pump runs all the time and provides internal pressure when the vehicle is sitting in neutral, and when coming up to speed until the rear pump takes over that runs off wheel speed. when the reap pump creates enough pressure the PG switches a valve and the

With my Chevy Truck you reset them with the key remote and holding the pressure monitoring button, But like Dave said some cars require a special tool, at the race track when a Porsche comes in for tires we take the monitors out and hand them to the owner if they mount slicks as the tire/wheel temps will destroy the monitors, Oh, and on a POORche they cost $1500 ea to replace!

Operator error, what do you expect from kids running a tire store? I had the same problem with my Truck, America's tire had no clue. I came home and read the owners manual and figured out how to Reset the monitors myself.

When I first started running them on the stand as a Kid I could only get them to run a min or less, my Father was the one who told me about the coil issue, I put a in line ballast resistor in line and no more problem, a few years ago I was helping a buddy run a new engine and the same problem arose, in line resistor and no more problem.

A Mod that Rick Norris made was to remove the plastic tilt handle Under the oil pan section of the jack and shorten it a bit then weld a hex head onto it so you can turn it with a wrench, he said it works much better that way.

Jim, without a resistor or resistor wire the stock coil over heats and will shut off in a min or so. It's ok if you have a 12V coil, but stock coils need a resistor to Lower the running voltage.

I have ran them for hours with a good charged battery, the racers run most cars the entire race with no working alternator to gain HP. I never do a compression check on a rebuilt engine, I am confident in my cold valve adjustments and just fire them up and go!

The timing only controls the spark and not the valves, the valves are purely mechanical and adjusting the distributor timing controls the electrical spark, the only time adjusting the timing will cause engine noises is if it's to advanced and creates pinging, but most times if you have the timing that advanced it won't start properly. Now that you have the timing and idle adjusted properly try a
