I borrowed my brothers Eastwood fender roller like you have shown but it wouldn’t do much with the thick Corvair sheet metal or maybe I was using it wrong? Anyway I thought I had a picture but can’t find it but I ended up slicing notches in the inner fender lips and rolling them with a sledge hammer. Someday might weld the notches back together if I think of it.

I need to update my build thread on that car now that I have some miles on it. Lots of rubbing issues. I will probably get another set of front springs to raise the front back up about 1/2" to help some. Inner fenders are rolled and clearanced to help. Wheels are 17 x 8; 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear

I rebuilt the carbs (well took apart and cleaned mostly, its only been 12 years since I last rebuilt them) and got my 65 Sedan out for the first time in 2 years. Fresh gas and it seems to be running okay, although not perfect. Will put some miles on it and try to get it dialed back in now that the warm weather is here.

I would really like a trailer camera that has tpms built in. I think I’m a little ahead of the game.

I like to buy a gallon of base and a gallon of clear. Even with door jams and trunk bottoms there is still some left over for touch up or redos.

The new format is working fine on my PC, just like it used to be. Using Chrome browser. The new format is working on my Apple phone and tablet, but is a little different. Not deal breakingly different to me.

The emojis seem to be where they always were. I am using Chrome browser, and on the PC side of things, I am not seeing any changes.

Thanks for going through all this trouble, it is interesting to watch! Check out low head or ultra low head socket cap screws, this would give you even more clearance.

I used to have stacks and stacks of them. I am not sure if I have some or if I gave them all away but I will check. If I have one I will send it to you.

I second the trailex. I had one for several years and it’s the perfect trailer for the Corvair. Very light but strong. Not good for cars bigger then the Corvair so everybody doesn’t want to borrow it all the time. I ended up selling mine to buy a bigger and heavier aluminum trailer that could also handle full size vehicles.

Just to add to the conversation, maybe helpful maybe not, the yellow zinc coating found on grade 8 hardware at my local tractor supply stores holds up practically forever while the green zinc and clear zinc found on grade 5 and grade 1 hardware lasts much less. I also have the pleasure? Of dealing with zinc coaters in my professional business, and I am glad you found one that will work with y

I installed one of these in my rear brake circuit. It holds the car well. Simply. push on the brake pedal, set the lock, and you are done. To release step on the brake pedal again. Note this is only a parking brake, it has no mechanical provision for emergency situations. My brakes and lines are 100% new so I don’t anticipate any major failures.

I always put a heavy duty HF tarp over top. I have replaced the tarp twice in I think 4 years but the canvas is holding up fine. It’s ugly but back here nobody can see it and it functions great.

Yeah I know you don’t know the cost yet. Was hoping you had a rough idea, or at least what you were/are willing to shell out. I am a maybe as the price will determine how interested I am. Probably others in the same boat as me.

I would be a maybe but it would really come down to cost. Which is why it might be nice to have a rough ballpark to see how many people like myself would be interested. Less than a grand? More than a grand? A couple grand? I know things can get really expensive to produce certain one off products, especially with the liability involved.

Any rough ballpark on price? Seems I had close to a grand just in my C5 calipers rotors and brake pads. Although I’m sure cheaper imported parts could be sourced

I had to cut a window for the display to show through, and drill a hole for the button, but overall a pretty easy project and works well. I don't know if this would work on a Corvair dash, but might!

This thread was brought back to life by a spammer trying to sell a "free" speedometer app, so I deleted those posts. Since we are on the subject, I will show some pictures of what I did for my '65 Mercury station wagon. I bought a Speedhut speedometer that matched the same layout as the stock gauge, then disassembled it and mounted the new "guts" in the old speedomete

Do you have natural gas or propane available? Around here I think even expensive propane is much cheaper than electric for heat. The heater I posted above vents horizontally through the wall, no need to cut a hole in the roof.

As for the floor, if you can find some old carpet to put down that will help with the "cold feet" especially if you have to lay on it. What is your budget? Are you looking to spend a couple hundred bucks on something portable or are you open to spending more for a more permanent solution? A heat pump comes to mind but I don't know how well it would work in the extreme cold.
