At the moment...The seller (my friend) and I are budding heads over this 8 door! He gave it to me for Christmas then he flakes out and wants to sell it? Plus the van has my battery too!

He gave one away to a fellow who wanted to rebuild one...My friend would accept donations...But most likely they are going to be scrapped for metal by the end of the July! I already have 3 in my garage!

The van is at his work...Fontana, California.... I agree...he should keep it! I even offered to install my Latham Supercharger so we can display it in October at the Fan Belt Toss Event In Palm Springs

My friend is selling this 8 door...It runs... But it needs the seats, and wheel cylinders...He says he doesn't have the time to work on it since he is a truck driver...I'm trying to convince him to keep it!

I hope the weather/age hasn't hurt the pieces, does it turn over now? It turns over...I hope that one day I can restore it and install it in my car! Unfortunately money is too tight at the moment!

I also would like to test my set-up to avoid any potential law suits of property or worst case life or limb. To protect myself I would require a release of liability waiver signed off at the time of purchase! In any case I'm currently restoring a 1968 Datsun Roadster so the Lakewood is not my focus of attention! My conversion has integrated parking brakes, solid rotor and replacement parts

My conversion uses Datsun/Nissan 200sx calipers and rotors...a design that has been adapted to 510s, 610s and early Z's with great success!

You do know the axle and bearing swivels in relation to the lower A-arm/Torq arm? Yes...I was working with a friend/fabricator who use to work for So.Cal Speed Shop! I think we have the design correct...The real test will be on the road! With the correct master cylinder and adjustable proportioning valve we can dial in the braking bias to the Lakewood providing SAFE and EFFICIENT STOPS...

O.K. Here is a tease! I plan on installing them on my Lakewood...The calipers have an emergency brake system and the rotors and calipers are very easy to locate! I showed them to Jeff at CA Corvairs...He mentioned most of the EM people would not want to change to a 14 in. or larger aftermarket wheel...So I guess what I'm doing is seeing if he is right!

My friend and I installed REAR disk brakes on an early model Corvair! We are thinking of making the brackets available for purchase...Just a note the 13 inch steel rim does not fit over the caliper. A 14 inch or above wheel must be used! Any one interested...? Will post photos in soon!
