Interesting responces. If they're mailed from Lemont, Il., I live about 20 miles from there, so I should have had mine by now? Tom

I e-mailed CORSA 2 days ago and was told they were behind on mailings because of the holidays, but to hang tight, it's coming! Tom

Lots of good ones come to mind, but the first one that popped into my head was my 69 Z28 with a built 327 (302 was long gone), M21 close ratio, 4:88 posi. Fun car to drive and rarely did I take off or shift gears until about 6000 rpm. Finally spun a bearing after 3 years of constant abuse. Worst was my wifes Vega wagon when were dating. So much oil leaked on the clutch that it was probably the

In 1975 a friend of mine towed in a 1967 convertible off I-55 that overheated and the couple that owned it wanted to sell it. He called me to see if I wanted it, so I drove down to check it out. Maroon with black top and interior, excellent body, but the engine smoked bad from the overheat. Paid $75.00 and drove it home! Another friend of mine saw it and offered me $250.00 for it. Sold! Easy mone

My first car was a 1969 Camaro SS396 4 speed I bought in 1974. Basically stock 325 hp but had a 4:56 posi. Dark green with white hockey stripe, black interior. Seller was asking $1500.00, but I got it for $1450.00!!

Mike, I'm all for the "stock" look, but I gotta say that is one of the best looking LM coupes I've ever seen!

Welcome back Allen. I was hoping you would see that thread and chime in. Like you said, the resto could have been better, but it's better than letting it sit and rot. I don't see him getting $13,500 for it, but I guess it never hurts to ask, and he can always go down! Good luck on your new situation.

Matt, I wasn't a member of this forum when Allen bought that Corsa, so I don't know much about it. Allen listed the mileage at 200000 in the registry, but I thought that might be a typo. The ebay listing has much lower mileage. Did Allen rebuild the engine? I'm not interested in buying this car, just curious as to the accuracy of the ad. And I'll bet you're right o

I checked out the VIN on the black Corsa Conv on ebay with the Registry and the person that registered it was from Bakersfield Ca. It has to be Allen's (RthrDent) car. I wonder what his reserve is. I know he sold it to someone on the east coast and that's where it's for sale.

Without a doubt the best car show I've ever been to. Even the weather was perfect! I met and chatted with Larry Claypool for a while and he gave me some good advice on a car I'm looking at. Super nice guy. I also met Eric Prosise and the whole Prosise clan. Found out his uncle, that brought 2 LM's, is my brothers neighbor. I had no idea this show was going to be this big, so I

About 6-7 years ago, I bought 2-5 gal pails of a non flammable parts cleaner at Farm & Fleet. As I recall, it wasn't cheap. I think it was $35 for 5 gal. I just drained it out of my parts cleaner last month to clean out all the sludge and crap. I probably could have filtered it and re used it, but I'm going to start with fresh stuff. Only 1 gal evaporated in that time, and the stuff

eds, The point of my post was, #1- When a new guy askes a question that veterans of this board have heard several times before, it should be answered exactly as you suggested IMO. #2- That 1 guy didn't ruin the show for me or my son. If I was showing a car at at a show, and was a member of a club for that car, doesn't that make me an "ambassador" for the club? Just

64vert makes a good point. Nothing turns a new guy, all excited about his "new" Corvair off faster than asking a question and being told to "do a search". Every question has probably been asked at least once on this board. I took my youngest son (20) to a Buick-Corvair show in West Chicago this spring and I'm guessing most Corvair owners were CCE members, but I'm

Ray, I never said poor work ethic was limited to union employees. In fact, I said "work ethic isn't what it used to be", which it's not. If my boss is having a bad day, he can tell me to take a hike because (insert excuse here), and I can't file a grievence, I'm non union. I've been management, and after 5 years I gave up the suit and tie for steel toe boots. Be

I'm going to get blasted for this, but here's my take on unions. In the last 30+ years I've been in 3 unions. Pipefitters, Teamsters, and Laborers. Great pay, great benefits, great retirement. The only problem I see with unions is they protect the lazy. I've seen it many times. I'm currently non-union, and that's fine for the small company I work for. My nephew used

I've always been a Chevy guy, but I am a little disappointed with the new Camaro. Sometimes when I see a new Mustang coming at me down the hiway, first glance is a '70 Boss 302. The new Challanger looks like a 70 Challanger. The new Camaro resembles a first generation Camaro, but that grille sure looks like a Cadillac. They are starting to grow on me though. Tom

Marco, I was wrong when I said my 65 turquois Malibu with white interior was an SS. It was NOT. My yellow 65 with black interior was an SS. I got to thinking, so I broke out the dusty photo album and checked. That was 34 years ago, and it was the 70's................ Tom

Marco, I bought a 65 Malibu SS in 1975 with a 327 4 speed, Turquoise with a white interior. It was all original bought from the original owner. Do I understand your post correctly when you say it was only available with red or black interior? Tom

Nick, You're too hard on yourself. Yours was NOT the shabbiest Vair there in my opinion. I can see the beauty past the faded paint. I spent more time looking at yours than any of the others. They all were nice, but something about yours (and the 67 I keep mentioning) that motivate me to make a purchase. Tom

Keith, Pick my favorite? I'm partial to LM's, but I like them all. Did I mention I liked the Green 67 coupe? Nick's Corsa, aside from the ignition looked like it was 100% stock and original, which is what I prefer. There was a few "chrome monster" Buick's that would fit in my shop. If you hear of any shows in the future, post them here and I'll be there. To
