While this Corvair sounds desirable, the more research that is done on it the worse it gets! Originally white with a bronze interior? Kind of an odd color combination... I wonder if the seller is tuning in to this thread?

Those rivets are not stock! Are you sure the trim tag came from the wagon it is now attached to?

I almost turned it off to go to bed, then WOW! Two bidders must have really wanted it! Interesting that the next car being auctioned was a SVO Mustang with a 4 cylinder turbo and it only brought $5-6k!

Hey, Frank! Just to clarify your most recent statement, yes, you may be able to get away with not having a "pedal pusher," but how would you actually "flush" the old fluid out of the system without opening each of the bleeder valves? The brakes are working GREAT, BTW... Thanks! Greg

On many of the bumpers on my Corvairs, I use stainless steel bolts with the same heads that I polish on the underside, and the chrome capped bolts on the top surface. Have any of you ever noticed?

SUCCESS! My son, Mitchell, and I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon hooking up the pressure bleeder and letting it work it's magic! I kept the gauge set at about 20 pounds. Mitch was the pedal presser and I made the rounds to each wheel cylinder (WC). We started with just slowly pressing the pedal until no bubbles came up thru the MC, then furthest to closest each WC. Another black eye for the Corvair with more negative advertising we don't need! Does the commercial actually say the name of the car is a Corvair?

So, Cox communications finally woke up and realized that we dropped them as our service provider MONTHS ago, and they are giving me until the end of October to find a new provider for my email. Any suggestions? Maybe, gmail? Any email providers that I should stay away from? Thanks! Greg

So I removed the rear shocks on my '63 Spyder 'vert and replaced them with KYB's I bought from Marty Katz at the convention. The "original" shocks were Clark's replacements. When I push the rods on the old shocks in the rods stay in! On the new shocks when I push the rods in the rods come right back out! So are the Clark's shocks shot? Thanks! Greg

Matt/Mike/Frank/Jim/Lee: Thank you for your replies! I'll answer or clarify a few things. YES! The Suburban DOES have ABS! I replaced all the hard brake lines which were all routed directly the ABS module on the left frame rail, so the ABS was exposed to the air for a few weeks. I AM getting fluid out of each bleeder valve. I replaced the front two because they were rusty, but t

Greetings! One of my 110k mile Suburban brake lines failed due to rust so I replaced them all using a stainless steel pre-bent kit. All the lines are in, and I've bled each wheel twice but I'm still NOT getting any pedal. Does it have something to do with the anti-lock brake module? I've tried bleeding with the Suburban off and running. Any help? Thanks a million! Greg

Unlike Motohead, I LOVE the Extractors! I have a brand new set in my shed just waiting for a reason to bolt them on. The best part is that you can swing them down under the oil pan to get complete access to the valve covers and keep them bolted to the exhaust manifold so you can adjust the valves, replace the O-rings, etc. I had a set on my '65 110/4 for years during and after college and

Greetings! My neighbor is selling one of his Swedish rides. It is red with a tan interior, 4 speed manual, in daily driver condition. It recently passed the Virginia State Inspection. It has a very nice wood steering wheel. The odometer indicates 46,500; however, the odometer may have rolled over. If you or anyone you may know would be interested in a classic '60's Volvo, please P

Hi, Cody! Show us a picture of the trim tag in the engine compartment, that will tell us what options originally came on the car. My guess is that your Corvair is fairly early due to the BLACK light and wiper switches. Are the door sills painted or aluminum? That's another indicator of an earlier '60. Please, PLEASE get rid of that hideous outside rearview mirror! I have a nice co

I want to go to 14's because I already have a beautiful set of 14" stock wire wheel covers! I also have a set of 16" IROC-Z wheels, but I'm trying to keep this particular Corvair as stock looking as possible.

Hi! I have a LM Monza coupe that I would like to change over from 13" rims and tires to 14s mostly to fill up the wheel well a little more. The Corvair currently has the LM wire wheel covers with the 3 prong spinners and I have a very nice set of the same wheel covers in 14". I know they will work because many years ago I sold a set of FC rims to a friend with a LM convertible and he
