One inspection ago, I had to show the inspector how to operate the high beams on the 68 firebird. I wondered why he spent so much time looking in his book.

No guarantee, but it's unlikely that would be checked. Lights, signals, horn, probably brakes. I'm 20 miles north of Stafford (which is almost different worlds around here), but I'd bet you could find a friendly station in that area.

I agree with Wade. The further from metro areas, I'd say, the laxer the inspection. I'm 10-12 miles from DC, but that being said, if it looks pretty good, they figure you don't drive it much and you're out in 10 minutes. I took my 68 firebird in October and he stated, this won't take long. Didn't pull any wheels or lift it up.

Replaced the heater blower motor with a high volume motor, connected the hose from the driver's side to the heater box and the hose through the fire wall to the heater box. Once I change the vacuum modulator, the passenger rear suspension starts going back.

CarDoctor is mailing me a front grille for my 67 and coast to coast was $15 in what he described to me as a triangular tube. (Thanks again Tim)

Slaw, I just checked mine, and it is "AS2", so I think it does me no good to change. Thanks anyway.

I believe the glass itself would have "AS2" in a lower corner, also.

Hey slaw, Is that tinted glass? If so, how much for the 4 door glasses, & I guess the vent windows? Would you ship (at my expense) to VA?

The way I read Rnch's question is not why they're so tough, but why does the combo just seem to work better in the vair. I know my 68 Firebird started with the superturbine 300, (Pontiac's 2 speed) and it was a slug compared to having the current turbo 350. I'm sure the vair would benefit from one or more gears too, but is doesn't seem as bad off. I'm going to guess the lighter weight?

Bob Peck Chevrolet, in Arlington VA has been replaced, they did pay homage in the high rise replacement to the semi-funky diamond shape over the showroom.

Aren't the trunk and ignition different blanks, so you use the one that actually inserts into the gas cap? If it's a 3rd, entirely different blank, although I get your quest for purity, why does it matter?

Definitely with the black center. Gives it some depth, instead of looking like a shallow plate.

I have news for whoever tried to find comps, that blue car is not comparable to your car. No news there. Craig's advise is good. Unfortunately, in situations like this, you'll have to do most of their work, but it will mean money (that is deserved) in your pocket. (I'm an auto adjuster, but when I had to find comps, I tried for ones that were comparable.)

Andrew, PG flat tow. Do tell, how far and did you do any of the stop and start it and run through the gears stuff, or just towed it until you got home?

Sorry you missed the reference 66 C & Joe. If you think about it, I was saying you guys made a bunch of stories, and I think you would have made them with or without Corvairs. Again, sorry you missed it.

I get a feeling a few of the later stories would have happened even if it were just unicycles involved. ggg

To add, I believe the socket is receiving 12v, and the switch grounds it.

I haven't gotten one yet, but I like it. I did just recently install his intermittent wiper control in my 68 Firebird, and like it.
