I believe Wednesday is vendor set up day. You can find some deals ( I hear) but I doubt it's 100 % til Thursday.

In my office at home-10 miles from the Pentagon. Heard the news on Howard Stern and then went and turned on the t.v. I was scheduled to estimate cars in neighborhoods surrounding that area. I still drove up I-395 until traffic backups stopped me and then got on surface roads and saw what cars I could. I could see and smell the smoke. Most surreal day of my life. I was scheduled to see a car

Frank, Nice overview of snow in VA. I live 3-4 miles from that interchange. 1/2" of snow is the worst, very slippery, but not enough to keep anyone off the road, but now we're driving slower, so 30 minutes becomes an hour, etc.

The heat from the oil cooler goes into the area that the hot air is drawn from as well, so it's not really wasted.

Full size G.M.'s in the 90's had plastic fenders and later BMW's as well. Makes aluminum look o.k.

All the rear disc conversions for Vairs using the Eldo rear calipers end up pretty close to that and come with instructions to pull the caliper off and bleed it. Not ideal, but like Matt says, how often do you bleed brakes?

If there's hot air blowing straight at the carb, I see it happening for sure. It would be unusual, but very possible. I saw an 80's Thunderbird where the exhaust pipe broke about 2 to 2.5 feet back from the rear tip, and blowing towards the tailight. It half way melted the plastic light out.

Firebirds are unibody, I don't get how the whole thing, which is the structure, could be fiberglass.

If no pertronix, did it get a new condensor? The new ones seem to be not so good, and I got your exact symptoms on my 68 Firebird just recently on a few month old condensor. Put the old one back in and all is well.

The investigation advice after the tsb info is good too: have a running hose over the windshield so it runs down to the cowl and get under the dash with a light.

If you use another 140 and do the things dad proposes, how much is really left of the "abused" engine?

1.5 hours sounds low, but if both fenders and doors are removed and windshield is out, there isn't too much left.

I have flat rate pages from the Mitchell Collision Estimator. If by cowl support you mean the lower windshield channel it is 1.5 hrs, but that is with the fender and door removed. (66-67 convertible). That includes r&r windshield adhesive. I'm sure your fenders and doors aren't removed, but it is a starting point. Even though the adhesive time is included, I don't read that as including the w

If the fuel lines are touching the engine, that is a problem worthy of vapor lock.

Insurance companies don't fix the cars or find the parts per se, they pay the money that fixes the cars and buys the parts.
