Take all the spark plugs out. Which one(s) are black and or wet? Post picture if you can. Do a compression check with throttles wide open. Post numbers. Head and jug from offending cylinder(s) can be serviced in the car without removing engine. Numbers and test from above will determine where to go. Well it's my speculation that the snap ring got dislodged on the shaft, and the shaft got knocked forward when it didn't get properly engaged with the torque converter upon reassembly. Then the front pump drive washer stripped the splines on the partially engaged shaft. How the front pump still built pressure is beyond me.

Pretty sure that shafts splines are tore up. If it slides all the way out, it will be replaceable without removing trans. I've just never removed on from that direction.

At a 9,000lb. rating mine will handle a 4 wheel drive diesel Suburban. A case where I definitely felt more was better.
