I have done the few little jobs on my 65 Monza 110 PG and whilst putting the engine back in lining it up on the bell housing and doing up the bolts something went pop, it felt like the splines just adjusted and found their place, but now it's back together it is not selecting gears. When I start the engine th Forum: Corvair Center Forum Yesterday Wagon Master ingraham Wrote:

The transaxle is on another transmission jack and I am rigging a cradle so that I can mate it straight to the engine.
If you haven't already joined them, take (2) 3/8"-16-6" bolts and cut off the heads right where they join the shank. Slot the top of the shank for a screwdriver with a hacksaw or cut-off wh Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 days ago Wagon Master Spectre Wrote:

Agreed, after compression check. Rings are not fully seated yet. Specially if no 1/2 throttle blips were done. Ringed seal will continue to get better with time. One cylinder at 40 p.s.i Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 days ago Wagon Master Take all the spark plugs out.
Which one(s) are black and or wet? Post picture if you can.
Do a compression check with throttles wide open. Post numbers.
Head and jug from offending cylinder(s) can be serviced in the car without removing engine. Numbers and test from above will determine where to go. You can have good compression numbers and still have a oil control ring scraper(s) flipped ou Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 days ago Wagon Master I can be reached via voice at 928-202-8654 during sane hours. Before you hook up your trailer take a measurement from a spot on the back bumper of the tow vehicle to the ground. Hook up your trailer and load it with whatever. If your back bumper doesn't lower between 1"- 2", STOP. Re arrange your payload till it does. This is w Forum: Corvair Center Forum 9 days ago Wagon Master Sounds logical.

Where would the best place to be to get one of those shafts?
You could always buy the one in my picture. $29.00 plus shipping. PayPal accepted. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 days ago Wagon Master Well it's my speculation that the snap ring got dislodged on the shaft, and the shaft got knocked forward when it didn't get properly engaged with the torque converter upon reassembly. Then the front pump drive washer stripped the splines on the partially engaged shaft. How the front pump still built pressure is beyond me. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 days ago Wagon Master Pretty sure that shafts splines are tore up. If it slides all the way out, it will be replaceable without removing trans. I've just never removed on from that direction. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 12 days ago Wagon Master Phil Dally Wrote:

As Phil says, don't go by what's printed on the back of the ticket or in airline publications, that might not be up to date. These rules chanced (in your favor) with the Covid outbreak Forum: Corvair Center Forum 13 days ago Wagon Master 2ragtops Wrote:
