THe ethanol in modern fuels lowers the boiling point of the fuel, and as a result vapor lock is a MUCH bigger problem with the mechanical pumps than it was back when these cars were originally built. I got tired of it and replaced mine with an electric one as well. Glad I did.

I did mine myself, as a ONE man job. WHile it can be done as a solo effort, a second set of hands would make the job much, MUCH easier. Position of the rear bow is critical, and it's also the point of no return when you staple that one. I like the 1965 tail light lenses better than the 1966-69 ones. I like the 1966 interior better than the 65 though. The 65 interior is a PITA to clean (I have white).

That sucks Dave. At least you were able to fix it. Adjusting, readjusting, rinse, repeat sucks, but is unavoidable. I lost count of how many times tacked the top in a few places to the tack strip, bolted it on, took it back off, made an adjustment, put it back on, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat. I had the Instructions from Clark's, and they were a little hard to follow. In retrospe
