The last car I worked on in the body shop before I got done many years ago, was a 66? GT350. I was very unimpressed with build quality. And as you mentioned, thin steel panels. Body lines before we started were horrible.

After all the issues I had with mechanical pumps back in 2006 on my way to the Buffalo Convention in my 66 Corsa. I installed an Airtex as soon as I got home. Been in there since. After getting my 65 Monza and having the new mechanical stop working, put an airtex in that one too.

Those look like newer mufflers. Probably have cat converters in them. Not that it's a bad thing, they will reduce flow. I'd look for some smaller mufflers without cats.

I hate those so much. LOL Working in autobody for many years, repairing many cars only to have them spin in the sheet metal and not being able to remove parts. lol I avoid them like the plague.

Base/clear on average takes about a month to dry. The clear was simply too wet to have the engine lid closed. Dry time has many factors. Temp, humidity, how heavy it was sprayed and the speed of the hardener.

Have someone with a test light check for switched power at the starter while someone turns the key to start. If you have power, you need a starter. Not uncommon. If no power, check fuses. Ignition switch is a possibility. Start at the starter and work your way back.

They can't be any worse than the current repros available. I have not had good luck with them.

I started wearing Sketchers for EMT's, etc. They have been the longest lasting (2 years and counting) out of any work boot or shoe I have ever worn. With that said, I wear minimalist/barefoot shoes when not at work. I started wearing my old New Balance with Vibram minimalist soles at work and leg aches are pretty much gone.

More than happy to show you when ready. Doesn't hurt to do some practice runs before you are ready to tackle the job.

I watched, was cool to see a Corvair on TV. Yes, there were some errors. I'm sure with other cars that we all do not know so much about on TV, they talk about inaccurate things also. We don't pick up on them because we don't know.

I'm not a fan of Napa, parts quality keeps declining and prices go up. I shouldn't have to grind brake pads to make them fit. And yes, all rust and gunk cleaned out of the slides and new stainless shims put it. Napa is my last resort if I need something that day. I also have/had an account with them, not sure if it's still active. When people off the street can get the same part fo

No. I don't think the sales of the filters is fast enough for old stock to deplete.

We use Napa at work for parts. Not uncommon at all for filters to not seal. Doen't happen often, it does happen. Stock is slowly being rotated thru from WIX to Mann. Once the old ones are gone, new ones start showing up.

Looking for EM speedometer parts. Long story short, got a used speedometer, needle wouldn't move, than it would, than it would stay in one place. It was all gummed up. Needle broke off. Soooo. What I need is the part that the needle presses on to. Willing to purchase just the complete speedometer housing or complete speedometer. This will be going into an FC, I don't believe there is an

Please, please, please. Do not drive on old tires. I took someones Corvair out for a test drive to figure out a vibration. Determined tires. Got back, removed the rear wheels to do some other work. I set the tires outside for the time being. A day or two later I find what you see in the pictures. I had just had this vehicle up to 50/55 MPH. I later found out the tires were possibly at least 20 ye

Weather is finally starting to improve here. I’m working on the FC for someone else. Anyone happen to know the length of the FC power glide dipstick from the tip to the cap that sits on the fill tube? Same as a car dipstick?

Yes, sorry, running, in neutral. Clarks is almost $30 for a modulator. Oriellys has two, an adjustable one for about $24 and a basic one for $12.

The kick down is adjusted at the throttle cross shaft, adjustable rod goes from it to the kick down on the side of the trans.

Yes, checked the fluid level warm/hot. Checked multiple times, once after a 15 mile drive. I replaced the small rubber hose in the engine compartment from the modulator steel line to balance tube. It was leaking due to too large of a rubber hose, was not a tight fit. No sign of trans fluid in the modulator line. I didn’t have the shudder starting off until I lowered the level to full, rem

I have a 65 greenbrier, PG I’m working on. It flares/slips on 1st to second Shift. I checked the fluid, looked good, was over full. I sucked out enough so it’s just below the full mark. I found the small rubber hose at the balance tube to the modulator was leaking, replaced that. I adjusted the kick down as it wouldn’t down shift until I was below 30mph. Now it has a shutter starting off along wi
