I figured the drip at the secondaries was probable a needle valve.
I'm not sure if the secondaries are actually secondaries. I believe that they are because of the linkage. I did not cover the throats and I did not check for adjustment screws. I will do that when I get back to them.

I disconnected the throttle and connecting linkage so I could set them individually. Even with the linkage disconnected I could not get the idle below 850 rpm and then it ran rough. The idle adjustment screws did not even touch the tang. I checked the timing and it was Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 days ago piddler The switch is on the bottom of the transmission on my car.
I had time today to take a look. I found the fill hole on axle. I removed the fill plug and drained a small amount of gear oil. I replaced the plug and filled the transmission to the bottom of the fill hole. I checked the axle dip stick and it showed a little over fill. I will need to remember this.

So, do I fill to the bottom of the fill hole on the transmission or go by what shows on axle dipstick?
Thanks, Pete Forum: Corvair Center Forum 6 days ago piddler I changed the backup light switch and inly hadabout a quarter gear oil on hand. I was going to pick up some more oil to finish topping off. I checked axel oil with the dip stick and it was a little over full, I did not know if there is a passage between the two gear boxes.

It used the boot snaps for the rear, but I don't know how I would fasten it in the front. I wouldn't want to drill any holes in the dash or doors.

I consider myself a fair mechanic and I also have a friend who has owned and worked on Corvairs.
The owner of the car now and previous owner are club members. He has a lot of history on the car. The pictures present the car very well. I hope to go look at the car soon.

At present my daily driver is a 1951 Chevy sport coupe. I use the car daily and have ventured out on a few 300 mile round trips. I do not drive it when there is snow or salt on the roads.
