I'd like to see the code stamped into the engine block. Should be "RR" if memory serves.

I did snap a pic of the underside of the housing with the separated piece attached. Dunno if anyone can tell anything from it.

What I'm worried about it potential damage being done to the engine during the break-in because there was in effect none, or very little filtering of the oil being done. Should I be concerned about that?

QuoteBrizo "Gushed" like it was under pressure or just spilled over from above the filter? Maybe gushed was too strong a word, it spilled down the sides. QuoteFrank DuVal That's why it is suggested to put a plastic bag over the filter before removing the bolt. I've never done it on a standard setup, and I've done lots of 'vair oil changes. It's why I

So I just did the first oil change after going through the break in procedure for a fresh rebuild. The oil filter started gushing oil the minute it was loose. I've never had that happen before. Oil filter is a Clarks that is at least a few years old. Upon a little investigation I found the seal and the top plate of the filter still stuck to the oil filter housing. How much damag

Hey all. Been a loooooong time since I've posted in here. I'm in the process of resurrecting my '66 coupe. I've gotten my taillights and signals working, but I don't have brake lights. There's 12v switching on/off at the switch under the dash at the pedal, but I've got nothin' back at the bulbs. Where else should I be looking to narrow this one d

Dante, I'm not sure. It's been fairly hot here lately and I haven't noticed any issues with the product I put onto the roof. But then again, I'm not pulling out the entire headliner to check! @66vairman. Why not go into the forums of the magazines that have written articles on the product and see what their readers have to say. I suspect that tuner crowd is quite kno

I found this product from B-Quiet that I used on my '98 Frontier, which was very much a tin can. Just doing the what you see here dropped the inside of the cab 10-12dB as measured by an app on my phone before and after. I've since done the roof, and next I'll tackle the doors. Some of the best money I've ever spent on any vehicle. B-Quiet

My hopped up 140 (Otto 4 Primary Rotated carbs) was a pig off the line with the 3.27s. I swapped it out for 3.55s Like Craig said, hopped up usually means a trade off has been made for more power up in the rpms. The guys posting about 80hp and 95hp motors with 3.27s are dealing with a totally different animal as both of those motors are torque monsters down low in the revs.

Check the oil filter. If the harmonic balancer is starting to let go the outer ring can wobble enough to cut the filter, and that can cause an awful mess.

I ran a little experiment over the last 7 days. I placed two different ads on Facebook promoting the CORSA Convention in Tacoma. One ad, now expired would have showed up in your news feed if you live in WA, OR, CA, ID, NV or MT. It has been served up to 1104 people, generating 33 "likes" from FB on the desktop, and 11 from Facebook on mobile devices. This ad directed folks to the c

Now THAT would be an interesting thing to measure on a '61 with the Full Finned cylinders. Did they stick with the '60 bore size, or bump them up to '61 specs?

I just installed B-Quiet in my '98 Frontier Pickup and saw about a 10dB decrease in sound levels (as measured by an app on my phone).
