I have to pay attention when I type. Car lived most of its life downstate, it now resides in my WNY garage. So yeah, bolts have had a hard life.

I was going to try the Dave Motohead method of leaving the bracket on and aligning it that way. I am assuming that the lower strut bolt should be removed before attempting to do anything with the upper bolt or PG bracket so as not to stress the bracket. If I read the searches correctly, the lower bolt can be loosely put on while attempting to line up the top bolt on reinstall. I'm not su

Welcome and congrats on the car. I have had mine over a year and am still finding things that need doing. They are fun cars and a great hobby. Lots of smart folks on the forum to help if you get stuck on something.

My rear strut rod bushings are shot, one is rolling half way out of the strut. Its kind of new territory for me, so I did some searches on bushing replacement and feel confident I can do it. Had the car up on the QJ today, going over my list of "what else needs replacing". Noticed I have a rear strut rod with an inner bushing hanging half out, the other 3 look pretty tired. Was looking at Clarks and saw the Heim Joint strut rod and thought it looked promising. Car is only for pleasure driving and was wondering if it would be a good choice for me. Was also curious about

The loud noise you hear when you turn it on might be it self priming, should stop after a few seconds. If noisy when driving, check to make sure you have a rubber insulator between pump and where ever its mounted to, and its tightly mounted.
