The dash bracket was the only remaining part missing from the retrofit on our car, picked one up from Corvair Ranch. Installed it yesterday, didn't need to remove the dash, just dropped the Heat/A/C control. Hardest part was drilling the hole in the bulkhead, the dimple is an 'outie' so had to use a punch to knock it down so the drill bit wouldn't walk. Appreciate all the i

Looking forward to this, missed the last one. Is it ok if we post items here that we will be bringing to the swap meet? Not sure what the policy is. Si

Thank for the feedback guys, I always wanted a Chevelle so looks like at least I have a part of one :-) Before I try and rejuvenate the A/C as-is, might be time to switch to a Sanden compressor. Any thoughts on the SD5 vs SD7? Clarks have a good deal on a used SD5 at the moment, we will be running R12 in the system as we have 15 lbs to use up. Si

Thank you Timothy, could you tell me where to look to see if the drain is present on our car and where it exits? Si

Typically car A/C systems have a drain, does the Corvair system have one? I've looked at our evaporator and don't see one. Si

Thank you Joel and Dave, makes sense - we likely have the right motors in the right spots then but I'll double check. Si

Great thread, our '65 Coupe was retrofitted (I believe...) with factory A/C so very interested in the details :-) I have a question about the blower motors above, if a '65 car is retrofitted but the blower motor is not switched out will that cause a problem? From the pics above it looks like you need to put the A/C specific blower motor in for the system to function correctly. Si
