Finally got my iPad to get rid of a screwup and answere the email you had sent… the “green belt” (back East) is a heavy duty belt that has a green stripe on the outside top layer…. If one has a belt driven setup and it eats same ….these do a better job of withstanding getting eaten ….most of time ????. Love the “Nash” fan and the new pulley great stuff for us Corvair fans Thanks T Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 weeks ago monza66coupe Yup lotsa folks have $$$ to play with…..so if that person simply loves the auto, let them enjoy a pretty nice Corvair…..half to agree on the wheels…ugly…..only money!….. of course some folks loved the Pinto, no accounting for taste even the ol 2.3 cubic inch was a long used motor……..too bad a number had to be killed in th e rear end accidents. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 6 weeks ago monza66coupe Kevin, has any one checked out the “Green Belts” tho I have never tossed any belts on my 65 or 66 Monza over the years…. Ted Forum: Corvair Center Forum 6 weeks ago monza66coupe A bit of it reminds me of the ill conceived Vega….some leftover Corvair parts did make their way there ……daughter had a 71 Vega wagon, yellow w/spots. Rusted as well as the Pinto did. She fried it 2X, Check Oil/Water everyday? Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago monza66coupe The May 2023 Issue of Hemmings has an article on page 9 on a much beloved 1962 Corvair Monza and it’s impromptu restorations…enjoy Forum: Corvair Center Forum 2 months ago monza66coupe They do not get any better than the Dave’s Rampside Forum: Corvair Center Forum 3 months ago monza66coupe It’s neat to see how the modifications work out, as for “nitpicking” to each their own..…I just enjoy seeing them out and about…..tho a bit cool at 0700. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 4 months ago monza66coupe I had a Weber carb oN my 258cuin 1988 AMC Eagle Wagon, the stock unit was just not very reliable (88 K) Started easy in all WX and ran great, decent MPG… I would consider a pair on my 66 Monza coupe w/ 110 + 4 spd. Aztec Bronze Forum: Corvair Center Forum 4 months ago monza66coupe A better product is always good for the Corvair Community…..that said, if folks that have purchased this product and are satisfied with its operation/longevity please enter this discussion and give your information. Anyone whom goes out on a limb to improve the breed deserves remuneration for his/her efforts. Help the guy with this effort, and if one can offer an improvement please offer to help Forum: Corvair Center Forum 5 months ago monza66coupe My personal thoughts are if one is “modifying” their own vehicle to improve the dash to include different gauges for reliability or the cove Corsaized just because they like it …so be it. Not everyone likes steak/lobster and I would not want to impose my wishes on anyone whom has a different like. We just like all Corvairs…… Forum: Corvair Center Forum 11 months ago monza66coupe Yes Fire season isl/has been in full swing here in So. (80 yrs young) 1962 Monza with a 1965 327 Chevy in it, mid engined. It supposed a first, and a scary ride in the day. page 10 Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago monza66coupe As Kevin has explained the production issues, the wait to see the finished whirlybird in whichever color one hopes for...it will give time for the “revolving warrentee” to smooth it’s self out. Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago monza66coupe But if you spell it backwards it doesn’t count sreyalp....still no good for a person...however would look good on a stinger or so In Australia or elsewhere.. keep em guessing all the time. Ted Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago monza66coupe Nasty lookin dude, not you Kevin....bet Barbie in her new “Elvis outfit” would like Nash rather than the fan.... Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago monza66coupe While this is all in fun, the “Nash Fan” is a great piece of work! Having an idea what it takes to create something like this for the Corvair community is/was daunting.....thank you, tho Chevrolet did their homework in developing the the original fan in the desert at 120 degrees or more (130 last week) the weather changes indicate warmer temps. Does “12 plate for all” sound like a new battle cr Forum: Corvair Center Forum 1 year ago monza66coupe YESS, and the Nash fan comes in eleven colors including “plaid”. Also with a 1 year revolving warrantee.... Re: Oil Cooler I have been using a special oil with extra zddp for flat tapped older engines in my current 66 Monza h/t. Also change oil in the fall before putting up for winter, however am relocating to the SW with the 110-115 degree temps I prefer to error on the side of caution. My 1965 Monza convertible with a 110 PG was upgraded to the larger oil pan and 12 plate oil cooler, never had a problem.
