please forgive me but your diagram is useful only to the electronically competent- labeling the positive and negative connections are the limit of my knowledge-- a simpler diagram please- labeling coil neg and pos terminals and other connections would make it easier for those of us less knowledgeable.

Scott, what I've been telling folks is to send me $60 to cover shipping and I will refund any excess over $5 and absorb any overage. Sound fair?

Please be kind and remember I'm electrically challenged- No diagram needed- I just wired it in between the negative terminal on coil and tach feed wire-- just as I did for the resistors-- is that wrong?

its been awhile since I updated this thread- my tach still bounces around, doesn't read accurately and the over rev buzzer goes off under medium load- I've tried resistors from 10k- 390k- 490k still similar problems. I also tried a capacitor (saw that n a tach manufacturers website) and tach was dead. So, looking for new theories to try.

Looking at the Corvair listings for which dizzy goes with what HP/year Corvair I see in the list "1962 Power Pack-- I just got a bunch of dizzy housings and one is stamped 1110272- which is listed as 1962 Power Pack- see picture -- PS. I know our entire engine and drive train is often referred to as the power pack....but the listing implies something different.

Matt, I was there today and he has a vast supply of EM an LM parts- especially tins, blocks, a few semi assembled engines,65 LM 4 speed (I think 2 of them), to much for me to remember- I just wish the best for a guy who held the hobby together for so long. Wow, what an experience- Its the most Corvair parts I have every seen in one place at one time (and yes Al -lane66m- I've seen your stash-)-Every time Tom opened a door it was like finding gold-parts, parts every where. It's a shame that Tom is having trouble speaking and is not comfortable trying to deal with all the "tire kickers" (his words not mine) I completely understand

Yes I assume installing a dizzy with no advance retard would require much less initial advance- thanks for the info. Seth, Ray says it doesn't matter much which dizzy I use as a back up- they all will let me limp home I guess. Phil Seth Emerson Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You should list which Distributor number (like 1110330, etc) stamped on the side. so people can match it.

Looking for any old reasonably priced dizzy to use as a backup to my XR700. Ray Sedman suggests it is easier to swap out the entire dizzy rather than just the points plate- I agree. Let me know what you have shipped to 14589 zip. Stay safe- Phil

OK Al, so should I wait till then to inquire about a old dizzy- Ray Sedman says I should mount that dizzy plate you sold me on an old dizzy - it will be much easier to swap out if the XR700 quits- so hit me with a price- preferably a 2021 or 2022 price...LOL Lane66m Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Thanks guys, by the end of next year, I may have no more

Don't they make a carb insulator for the Holley? Wouldn't it bolt up to the mount for the Holley? Just wondering- used to have a similar problem on several Camaros I had.
