How did you extend CHT leads to the dash-- just reg. 20ga wir

Dave, Is that an adapter that attaches to the dash end of the speedo cable and converts mechanical to electric signal for electric speedo? If so, what, where, and how much? that looks like it solves the $400 GPS speedo problem.

Thanks to all - Now I'm really confused-- Seth are you saying there aren't any adapters to allow me to mount the converter under the dash? Other than either retaining old speedo (zero $) or going GPS (+$400) are there any in-between options- I'm already looking at about $400 for new gauges without including a new speedo.

I'm thinking of using an Intellitronix Speedometer Sending Unit S9013 to convert from a cable driven speedo to a new electric model- Is it a good idea or am I just going to have other issues besides the normal speedo cable issues? I really don't want to spring for a GPS unit and would hope to avoid putting my 54-year-old speedo back in. But I am interested in all opinions and advice. t

I'm new to the forum and hopefully will be excused for poor forum etiquette. I noticed in a post an oversized radio bezel that would hide the mess the PO of my Corsa made of my dash. I found out the bezel was made/sold by Bucketboss awhile ago.. I hope he forgives me for trying to make him famous again but maybe if enough interest is shown he would come out of retirement- So... Sorry I have an LM. Looking for the stock look as much as possible... but can tolerate worthwhile improvements. I assume Clark's repo pad is good quality - at $340 a pop it should be... Really looking for someone who has used their kit to redo their own dash core... Bueller...Bueller....Bueller....

Wow, I really thought I'd get some replies by now- No one ever put on Clark's kit? The reason I'm asking is the price difference between a "new" dash from Clark's and the kit to cover an old core is over $250... any opinions welcome. PS. I'm an old "shop" teacher- not completely unskilled in the trades.

What is a fair evaluation of how hard is it to recover a dash- I'd be using Clark's kit and one of their cores (as mine has rusted badly on one end).

How do you test a speedo if it is out of the car and you don't have and spare speedo cable laying around? And how do you know it is/will read(ing) the correct "speed"?
